When is oil change required?

Here is my situation, I have ordered a M2 and the build (as of today) is complete and is now ready for transport. From what I have heard this means another 30 days before I take delivery. I am selling/trading in my current 2019 330i once the M2 is at the dealership. Question is, my 330i is now due for an oil change. I am good not to change the oil and wait for another 30 days or if its required that I do it now? I work from home so I only put local/short drives, maybe 25 miles a week.

You “should” be fine, but I wouldn’t risk it. The car will be worth less if you lapse on normal service.

if you're trading it in don't bother as you are using it so little.

I wouldn’t bother changing the oil especially if it’s being traded in and your hardly driving the car, plus a few miles over isn’t going to Depreciate value.

Once the vehicle is traded , it goes in for reconditioning, oil change, fluids , detail etc. save your Pennie’s for that sweet M2

I would just check the oil and not change it. Existing oil will be fine for an additional 30 days.

If it also helps, as we know BMW recommends oil change at 12 months or 10,000 miles, which ever comes first. I am one month over the 12 months, but I am 3,000 miles short of hitting 10,000 miles from my last oil change.

No, that is not accurate in regards to the mileage. The vehicle uses a condition based service system to determine when an oil change is required. The starting option is 10k miles and then is adjusted based on usage, conditions, etc. The maximum time is 12 months but the mileage can be thousands higher than 10k.

It is, but if you look at the numbers its saying that at the 12 month point of the last oil change, but still under the 10,000 miles.

That is the way it is supposed to work. The interval is based on mileage but not longer than 12 months.
