It's due to the change from 435i to 440i. The new designation reflects the switch from the N55 engine to the new B58.

Note that this is not the LCI for the 4 Series. That will occur sometime in early 2017.

transitioning to 440i? I still find it odd too that it isn't in here.

So it's January 2016 and the first MY2016 models to go out of production are the 6 Series (including M6) and the Z4, both ending next month. I am wondering what's in store for MY2017 for these models.

I had guessed previously that this was the end of the line for the E89 Z4. That may still be the case but I have not seen any confirmation.

Not sure what might be coming for the 6 Series. Anyone know?

The current 6-series was the facelifted one so we're a good three years ago from it going onto the CLAR platform. There are a lot of other models ahead of it.

The Z4 is in limbo waiting for BMW and Toyota to come up with whatever they're supposed to be working on together as their new joint venture sports car. Whatever that is and whenever it comes out, that will be the replacement for the Z4.

^^^ Thanks, yeah, I'm up to speed with all the news on these models. Still very curious to know what, if anything, is happening with them in March though.

Edit: answer for 6 Series here:

http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1215016

Still not sure yet if Z4 is gone or hanging around for another year.

Hi guys, I need to know when the US 440 Grand Coupe will become available I heard or read on this thread that February production was happening but when I went to go place an order my dealer told me not until July. What's the real deal? I need to make a decision within the next week. Thank you

According to the schedule in the OP, all 435i, regardless of body style, end in February. So the 440i GC should be starting production in March (not February), yes.

Is it possible that MY2016 simply ends early only for the 435i for no particular reason, while it would actually continue to be offered from March until June as an MY2017 435i and then switch to an MY2017 440i in the July? Technically, I suppose that is possible but it seems almost completely irrational to believe this could occur.

Is it possible they've actually reconsidered the schedule and decided to offer the MY2016 435i through June, moving the 440i intro to MY2017? Yes, that is slightly more likely than above, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that is the case.

Here we are March 1st, and the MY2016 Z4, 6 Series, and 435i are now out of production according to the schedule in the OP.

Yet, we still have no MY2017 schedule. I certainly hope we haven't seen the last of these schedules make it into public hands. They are extremely helpful for those trying to time their purchase decisions.

I agree completely. Family wants to purchase an X1 but I told them to wait a few months until MY2017 starts!

People in Europe are already taking deliveries for the 440, and we don't even have any news for being able to even order it yet in the US...

Anyone know the changes for the X5M model year 2017? I'm wondering if I should wait for the next production.

My M235 was due for build next week but my dealer has informed me the build week has fallen off due to a "component shortage" on the Pro Nav, which is affecting all Series including Mini.

What I'm wondering is this is suspciously close the the annual spec changes, could this mean there new Pro Nav variant on the way?

There exists an alleged 2017 schedule, however exactly none of the expected engine updates (that are definitely happening for ROW - many are already announced) listed here:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686

are reflected on it. Because of this it is a bit suspect. However if it turns out to be accurate, there is almost nothing to report. From a model availability perspective, basically everything on the MY2016 schedule just stays the same other than changing to MY2017 as of the month following the EOP date reflected on the MY2016 schedule.

Of course the F10 ends for good on its MY2016 EOP date, and the G30 picks up. But that model lineup is not presented officially on any schedule yet.

To follow up on my last post, it appears that the 230i and M240i are coming in July as originally expected:

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1262859

The fact that this is a US press release would seem to confirm we should expect these models stateside for MY2017. Assuming that is true, it suggests that there is no publically available, accurate production schedule for MY2017 at this time.

Whether we'll finally get the 440i in July as well, and whether we will also see the 330i, 430i, 330i GT and 340i GT this year too are still unknowns.

Another follow up. Most of you will have already seen this thread:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1271952

which confirms that all of the engine changes (30i and 40i models) that were in question for the US are indeed coming this year. If and when a production schedule for MY2017 surfaces that correctly shows these models, it'll be shared in a new thread so that this one can be superseded.

Everything will have switched over by the end of July except the F10 which goes until the end of October (when it will be retired to make way for the G30).

It's August now and all models have switched to MY2017 production save for the 5 Series and M5 sedan which graduate from F10 to G30 in November.

Still hoping for an MY2017 schedule to appear but it looks pretty grim right now. Consequently, all MY2017 EOP dates remain unknown and, as a result, MY2018 SOP dates as well.
