G80 vs Supra vs F80
Saw this race earlier today... Cars are all stock apparently. Skip to 5:23...
Is the Supra this fast? The G80 is a 6MT, and they swear the Supra is not tuned. |

If they don't talk about tires, it's not a good indication of anything. It looks like the G80 is on the MPS4S, but I can't tell what the Supra is on. Good tires will significantly affect race results.
Drivers also should have swapped cars, or had one person drag all three cars if this is about the cars themselves and not about the drivers and the cars.

I think I remember someone on this forum saying this channel specifically is notorious for improper test environments and results.
Regardless, the supra is a pretty quick car. The rolling race is all you really need to see though. Last edited by Nate.G82; 04-26-2023 at 01:51 PM.. |

I came from a 2021 Supra, it was pretty quick but definitely not as fast as my M4 xDrive. Plus it’s not an even comparison putting a manual G80 up against two autos.

I agree with many of the points above, but I think they are mostly nibbling around the edges.
In the end, their 0 to 60 number is not far off what BMWUSA says for the M3 stick (4.1 vs 4.2). Zeroto60times.com shows a best time for the G80 M3 Comp auto at 3.5/11.6 sec. I don't think it unreasonable that a stick and little less hp/tq would cost it .5+/- sec. This same website also shows a best time for the F80 comp auto of 4.0/12.2 which is very close to what the video results show. Additionally, the website shows the Supra's best time at 3.8/12.1 so the video numbers were slightly slower (4.0/12.3). Think what you want about their choice of cars to compare, but I actually found it interesting as the owner of a Z4 and the results are not far off what others have compiled for these cars. In the end, a few tenths would not even be noticeable by most drivers. PS - I don't thinks anyone is trying to say that a Supra is as fast (or faster) than an M3 comp Xdrive. But it is interesting to see how grip and shifting speed can affect the all-important 0-60/1/4 mile times.
