Do the front and rear both fit? Do you (or someone else) have a write-up on any changes needed for installation? I'm getting closer to needing to replace my brakes, and I'd like to know if I can get some nice calipers bolted on soon

395mm G series caliper is bolt on fitment to G20 - however you need the corresponding 395mm discs. You also need to make sure your wheels are large enough to accommodate them!

I do not have a rear G2x hub to test the rear fitment - but I suspect that they will…. |

the 395mm discs are HUGE and very heavy. also potentially requiring a 20" wheel which is even more weight.

@tony - if you want to pursue 380mm G80 / 82 discs, you will need to have someone make some custom brackets for you. There are already aftermarket brackets out there for F90 M5 calipers / discs onto G2x (essentially the same as these OEM brackets found on F95 calipers) However not for the G8x set up. |

F90 M5 calipers and discs will not fit, unless you obtain an aftermarket bracket.
By the far simplest solution for OEM BBK is the info I have already posted with regards to the F95 X5M set up, which is the same caliper body as F90, G80, G87 etc - but with the OEM steel bracket from factory. It uses a specific 395mm ///M disc that is shared between X3M and X5M. With regards to wheel fitment, I cannot answer that for you - as I have never tried it. BMW offered the F90 M5 with a 19" wheel option though, so its possible but not guaranteed. It depends on the barrel clearance of your stock wheels. |

Really would prefer to be able to go G80 brakes with an adapter bracket than try to find some X5M calipers. The G80 brakes are much cheaper, about 55% less.

Finding someone to make you one would involve you supplying them with a G2x hub, a G8x caliper and the G8x 380mm disc they can then do the development and make you a bracket. Just make sure you use someone reputable, not just any random machine shop! Custom steel brackets alone (without development costs) are usually somewhere around £300/350 GBP per pair. |

I'm interested in an upgrade for my brakes as the BM3 stage 2 e50 tune pushes 500awhp/550tq--ish. Stopping at higher speeds takes a toll on my non-ZTK 348mm brakes. The 374s would help, but I'm on the fence about whether the difference is worth the extra rotational weight between the 374 4-pistons and the 395mm 6-pistons. |

Have you done Castrol SRF (or equivalent Motul) fluid, stainless lines and better pads for the stock 348mm setup?
You might be surprised. |

I'm starting with this. What pads are you running? I used to run Textars on my Audi for the street and the bite, pedal feel, dust and noise were all excellent.

It would be quite easy to use the OEM X5m bracket as a template and reduce its mounting radius / height to suit the smaller rotor. |

I can confirm that the massive 398mm rear discs work on the G2x rear hub - I have just carried out a test fit.
