Does the gear selector work properly i.e. can you select S programming mode?

Also retrofitted idrive controller and filler plate from an M8 to match the gloss black of the gear selector.

No luck on "S" selection yet. I've been keeping an eye out for the glossy pieces to complete the look.

May be possible only if your vehicle's EGS HW version can be flashed with the pre-LCI EGS FW.

Please note:
1) Without flashing EGS with pre-LCI FW, you will (likely) not be able to select S-mode. You will need to use E-sys + psdzdata (full) in order to flash the EGS and only if BTLD, CAFD, SWFK and SWFL are available for your EGS HW version.

2) Any time you replace HW that is not supported by/compatible with your vehicle (and included in your vehicle FA), SW recalls (dealers uses ISTA+), ECU ("idrive") OTA and dealer (ISTA+) updates will (likely) no longer be possible without first reverting HW back to factory. You can alway update your vehicle's ECUs SW/FW (for SW recalls and "idrive" updates ) using E-sys but doing so is not for the faint-of-heart. You really have to know what you are doing.

usually glass panel have more one swfk than matt panel.
but g20 has only matt option.
so can't ISTA firmware update and rsu ota.

The all gloss black looks great! Now the question is will this work for LCI models, I'd like to get back the physical Auto/Start stop button and "Adaptive" option for the suspension

BMW sells a repair kit for your OEM console that includes this trim piece.
Kit sells for ~ $140 for the kit.

Larry. Thanks so much for the info. I had no idea. I don’t see the clear part of the shifter in the illustration. I guess it’s the same for a 2020 ?

Yes, 2019-2023... see attached screenshots for "WHAT THIS FITS" and the illustration highlighting the "clear part".
