Everyone knew this would have a similar interior to the G20 series which is half a generation ahead of the G30/F90 5/M5. The 5 has one of the older interior styles in BMW's current lineup alongside the 7 series. The X5, 3, and X7 have the more modern interiors with the newer style center stack, well integrated infotainment screens and newer style iDrive control area.

So I disagree. This looks different from the F90 interior.
The interior looks like my g05 x5

That is consistent with the E, F, etc. series cars as well. There has never been a huge deviation.

what does it say on the steering wheel? the best i could figure out was "fold down the camouflage when parked", which would be funny.

also those seats better fit the f80. i need some schroth harnesses.

True but I think it is particularly noticeable on this generation and in a bad way. Really shows the extent of part recycling and cost cutting in order to make 8 SUV models. M models barely have any exterior differences now.

Cost cutting has been a complaint ever since the E-Series cars, but I suppose that's a matter of opinion. We've had a multitude of SUV models (..X1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc.) for awhile; prior to these new cars. It's not a new phenomenon.

I agree. It's always been a problem, but right now it's literally all the same. Unless you're a BMW nerd the average person will never know the different. Red buttons aren't enough.

From the new interior pix it seems the analog dash gauges are gone, replaced with new electronic garbage.

The current G-Series Live Dash should've told you that over a year ago.

Yeah, shouldn't be a surprise whatsoever...

As much as I love the old analog style dials, I'm not hating on the digital either. That's where the industry is going and sure it won't have the timeless character, but does look pretty nice for the time being.

Interior is nothing exciting. Glad manual is retained. The sport buckets look nice too. Too bad this thing will be the fugliest BMW of all time with the front grill and Japanese rear smh

Nothing new here, combination of all BMW cars.
One thing I would like to see it's a new Sterling wheel.

Why? The camouflage does a great job covering up the grille.

As I feared they're going with the smaller LED lighting strip that cuts off halfway through the door, just like in the G20

At least the exhaust tips look beefier now.

Pretty sure that is what it says -- the 5 series spy photos had "Interieur Abdecken!!!" on the wheel in the same style, which translates to "Cover the interior!!!".

The G30 5 series, G01 X3 and G11 7 series are slightly older design. About a half step behind the G20, G05, and G07 X7 which are the more modern design language.

Also the G14 8 series is more of a unique look. It's more of a grand touring sports car interior.

I'm the grand scheme they are all kind of similar, but you can clearly see where BMW made the biggest changes in interior design.

BMW M just posted this in their Instagram. The seats look like the new M3/M4 seats in the spy shots. Some people are saying it might be the new M5 CS.

But hoping BMW announces this soon!
