Hmm...That comparison doesn't quite add up. 2 generation leap vs 1 generation?

E92 Coupe: 181.5
F22 Coupe : 182.6
G22 Coupe: 187.7

5" is a massive increase relative to past successors. This thing is BIG. (See: Thicc)

Still not over the 'dynamic' front end, Dodge Charger hood indents, and droopy sides with the timid barely-there door line. Stance looks good and I am confident the mechanical bits will be all-business. Shame about the ugly suit though. RIP tasteful design
The reason why I referenced the E46 was because people cite(d) it as being the perfect size.

Your very much appreciated SCOTT26 , thank you for your insight. You can't please everyone. Too much negative energy regarding the G22/23/G80/82/83. In life you can't please everyone, as some are born to complain for life. Accept the change, otherwise life will blow past ya.

Adjusting the front plate placement slightly lower is a game-changer.

Didn't understand it a bunch either on the F32 gen but hey it still sold I guess.
I want and would get the M4 GC, as I prefer the 4 over the 3 body style in general, but would like the extra doors. I'm on my sixth M3/4 coupe and was disappointed they didn't bring an F8x GC. I don't have any interest in non-M 3/4 series.

Agreed, although I'm sure that tow hitch mounts will be available pretty quickly.

Just move to a state that doesn't require front plates— problem solved 😊

I have quite a bit of time left before I can take my pension and run, so I'm stuck for now.....

...not that I run a front plate on my M4 as it is. To be fair and non-hypocritical, however, I don't write citations for it either.

I don't see the sense, you just criticized the 3er for being too big but then suggested an even longer, taller, wider and most importantly heavier (by ~800lbs) and auto only vehicle as the solution??

...borderless, really works better in my opinion..

I don't think the license plate placement is the problem...it's what's behind it.

Have to say, the lower grille and the thicker slats make the grille highly tolerable. Still absolutely hate how they changed the overall look of the car. A lot of BMW is missing from this design.

from my perspective if I'm going to drive a vehicle that feels that big, might as well get the utility of an SUV or at least a wagon.

G80 is going to be amazing for my needs. I love that it is almost a baby M5 in size and look at it as the ultimate family car paired with a manual transmission. It is a super unique package. I think it depends on what you are looking for in a car.

That makes no sense. The G80 M3 is about 5 inches longer with a 3 inch longer wheelbase, but will weigh almost the same as the E90 M3 and F80 M3. I don't understand how people can look at a picture of a car and determine how it feels to drive.

The X3M weighs nearly 1000 lbs more than both. It's also an SUV with a very high center of gravity, no manual transmission, and is an SUV.

While it is a tradition on BMW forums to complain about any new model and then for those to start liking the new model and buy it a few years later (already happening with this car), I wouldn't go as far to say that people have to accept the change, or go bust.

Forums are for open discussion within a few rules set in place, thus anyone can praise or complain as much as they desire.

Just vote with your wallet.

This G8x is really set to be the ugliest M3/M4 to date, but BMW design has taken a bad turn in general.

A lower front plate makes it work better.

I've always looked at the performance first then at the style. Yeah, still don't like the new design, but looking at the overall product, it'll be the benchmark. I'll go for the tech specs first, then for the style.

So, we're focusing on a marginal thing. Front end style is a fundamental part of the car, but it looks better than the 4er on which it is based. We should save our final judgment for when we see it in the showroom.

For some reason it looks worse than the european model. cannot put my finger on it. grills are weirder or overall shape looks like its sagging.
