https://www.bmwusa.com/byo.html#!/bu...mmary/dr4u5a56 I can hold off from the sport pedals, spoiler, and carbon fiber mirrors as those I can add on myself as a separate purchase but the options I want. This is a specific build only because I've been driving my RSX for 14 years and it's time to get a car to the spec I want. I really wish this was out there but have had zero luck finding. If it's not out there then I already know I have to consider another car or settle for an auto g20 which is hard to comprehend going away from manual. It really sucks they showed the g20 after they stopped making f30 or finding what is gone. Can anyone provide guidance on getting PM's fixed or how to get in touch and where with moderator? Thanks! |

Man I miss my 06 type S, it was in black. Loved that little car. Anyways if you love manual that much then go from there. I love manual as well and the car would have to be on another level for me to consider an auto again...

Hey man. I did a search for you in Canada. There's only one 340i RWD with a stick within a 200 mile radius of Toronto, ON. I know that may not be a lot of help to you but it's best I could come up with to at least try and help with your decision process. |

Thanks but don’t want Canadian model. I appreciate everyone’s help. I also would consider m3 w same options. I do want leather seats and sunroof rather than carbon fiber roof and cloth seats. I would consider extended laeather with dash but that would be more obviously. I don’t want completion package with the bump in power and 20 inch rims and those sport seats. Too overkill and there’s an abundance of those online. 2018 model also is kind of a must. I looked for those and would consider with under 10k miles but I think maintenance doesn’t transfer over to next owner. I can’t find m3s w with all safety features of 340i as well. Lose lose. I should have looked in August but was waiting on g20 announcer with manual trans. I’m sure enthusiasts in here can relate in similar situation.

That's weird for you to recommend as I reached out and had a bland non helpful response from Bob Geisheker. I guess I'll give that dealership a try with this Matt person.

Have you driven a manual 340i? If you're expecting a similar shift experience to your RSX you will be disappointed. I owned a 2nd Gen Integra w short shifter and Accord V6 6sp stock and both of those had massively better shift action than my wife's 435i. The action on the BMW Shifter is very long and feels rubbery compared to the precision of say the V6 6sp.
The ZF8 on the other hand is truly amazing for an auto. I almost don't miss manual. Almost. |

Two points for the OP. BMW has a history of doing ".5" models. i.e. a mid-year re-do during the first year. The majority of 'manual shift only' people who have been forced into auto cars seem to be happy.

I think I drove a 340 manual long ago. I remember the long throws. Whether it compares to Honda/Acura manual probably doesn't make a difference to me as long as it is manual.

anyway to me the tech and new design is worth G20. not to mention it shifts gears faster than you can. Rob |

If the manual is important to you, I say go for it. The ZHP car you're looking at has the M Performance Power Sount Kit, an LSD and adaptive shocks which get you halfway to the advantage of an M340i anyway. While I personally prefer passive dampers, the adaptive shocks at least give you some advantage.
Trust me, you'll miss the manual transmission the most out of any other thing on the car. Every day you drive the M340i, you'll think about your Acura. You'll scour Autotrader for another one just like it or look for an older BMW with a stick shift. Yes the shifter isn't as precise. I've driven the last Integra GS-R and an S2000 and I know how much better Honda shifters are. But that hardly makes any difference. Being able to shift your own gears is something you will definitely miss. Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to justify having to drive an automatic every dya. |

Thanks guys. Both of you are on the money. There is a chance I would be thinking about driving my Acura or browsing around for a manual. There is a chance I learn to grow and love an automatic but everyday I drive my Acura on the expressway I love the feeling of control of the car, the downshifts the upshifts. If I had money I would get an m3 if it was in my budget but I am not willing to go older than 2018 as I’ve driven 14 years and to settle for something would suck. It’s a shitty situation all around.

hey OP why not lease a 2018 f30, then in 3 years when G20 is out, and they figured out all the bugs and issue jump on that. Since you would lease the f30 you can compromise on color/option combo.

That is a decent suggestion but it's an overall money loss and more work than I want to do leasing and then getting the car in 3 years. I hear what you're saying and thanks for the input!

Soooo
In 2015 I was shopping for my first bmw! I was set on a f30 345, being well it was 4 years after the last e90 335 model year. I stumbled upon my current 2011 335 xdrive msport I found with 9k miles , literally brand new - I paid 30k at the time which was about 5-7k cheaper than a used 2014 335 ... With the being said I regret not getting a f30 for the newer look... and I'm getting tired of my e90 already by year 3 ownership. Go for the newest you can afford so you have no regrets- if I sell mine would be either 340 or wait for used 2019 m340

Wife is picking her new Mineral Grey F30 340, M Sport plus other goodies tomorrow. Discount off MSRP was >10% BEFORE discounts like $3K Lease and $750 loyalty. There are potentially others that apply in our case.
Think you need to ask yourself...if you can strike a great deal on a very well teased out F30...why not jump on a lease and let the other guys sort out the bugs over the first couple yrs. The G isn't going to be that different. I'm sure someone will disagree. Cheers.

It's been 14 years almost having a new car. I'm at that point that I'm 99% picky as I like to keep a car over 6-7 years. If I settle for something I won't keep it long. I just have a different mindset and seems more than 50% on here lease and get a new model every 3-4 years.
