Except it's not, an M235i x-drive is 3653lbs, it's physically smaller, but not really lighter. It should be lighter...but it isn't.

"Driving Dynamics: G20 steering is intuitive and predictable, suspension is firm without roughness, throttle response is rewarding with acceleration. It's surprising how TU B46 4-cylinder engine performed like 6-cylinder with amount of horse power and torque. The acceleration definitely felt faster than BMW's claim. The cabin noise level is vastly improved and overall interior design is harmonic to the eyes. The stiffer chassis and improved torsional rigidity enabled it to accelerate through sharp turns with confidence."

Not to mention that if you want a 2er with more than two doors, you'll only get a MINI with a BMW price tag.

Not "only"! Love both of our 2018 Countryman S on BMW UKL2 platform/2.0 liter engine. Both loaded and purchased new last year in the high $30s. Value seemed quite high...great cars!

3,400 pounds for a 230i is still pretty porky. And nice Minis. But BMW will charge more for the 2er sedan and will unlikely offer a hatch (or a manual.) I'm actually thinking that the EV Mini is the most tempting thing in the BMW upcoming lineup.

Exactly, I don't care if the paint looks like a freaking tangerine if it drives right. What's happening with BMW? Comparison tests to electric toaster, 4000LB 4 cylinders, auto only, lexus ass, ps4 gauges, individual 50 shades of the same blue. Can they just make a separate model for chicks and metros and leave 3 alone, lol

Yeah, I don't get it. Our N54 135i had a weight in the rear bumper to get it back to near 50/50 balance. Is something similar going on here?

I just read the article. I think we need to hold judgement until the cars are tested on comparable tires. Going to send out LeBron in slippers?

Yup, a single metric - going roundy-round on a skid pad, 0.93g beat 0.89g. BMW on Turanza RFTs, Nissan on Hankook Kinergys. Nissan with the great CVT (sarc).

A countryman S JCW, has the same hp as a base X1, and they cost basically the same. The only thing with mini's is you can buy the detuned / 3 cylinder and decontented cloth versions of cars to get it cheaper. But at the high end, where the cars start to overlap, its the same price |

What softening? G20 is significantly stiffer than F30. F80 was also significantly stiffer than E92. And G30 is stiffer than F10 though more comfortable. I’m ignoring American magazines completely at this point...

I don’t care about the quotes. BMW has stiffer suspension and steering than its competitors, and G20 is way stiffer than MB and Audi. I don’t care about other cars mentioned here which I wouldn’t buy even for free, like Chevrolet or Hyundai.
