Hi all,

Taking a look at my now month old M340i and I've noticed (since the day I got it) that they bonnet/hood seems to 'sit' a bit higher than I expected.

Essentially, the grille to panel aren't flush, the metal is slightly raised. Having said that, the front quarter panels (fender) look flush with the bonnet/hood.

Does this look normal to you?

Do you have a picture that's further away? It gives reference to the other gaps in panels (hood, fenders, etc). Looks a little bit more than normal but the gap above the grill is generally a little bigger. Take a look at other front end pics on the internet for comparison. One thing to check is that your hood is fully closed...it's easy to think it is but takes either a high drop or a press down once in place.

Looks very similar to everyone else, thanks guys! I can sleep easier now

Do you feel like it's sitting too high regardless? Even from a design choice, it looks out of place to me!

I’m ok with it. It’s consistent across the hood so designed that way. Could it be better? Of course but they need some tolerances....

I replaced my grill with a black one and when I put the new one one I thought I messed up because of the gap. Turned out it was always like that and I just never noticed. It is a bit odd.

Yeah that's true, seems consistent and that's what matters. I was worried that air was getting under the bonnet
