Headlights staying on and car not locking

All of a sudden today, my G20 doesn't seem to realize it's parked, lock itself automatically, turn the headlights off etc. I haven't changed any settings. Any ideas what's going on?

Update - It's definitely a key fob recognition issue. Nobody else having problems?

Better it wont turn off than won't let you in. I was stranded today with my credit card key.

It did that too, momentarily (not recognize the key fob was near).

One thing that occurred to me today -- the room where I keep the spare key fob is literally right next to the garage where my car is parked. I moved the second fob and will report back if it seems to make a difference.

It's happened to me many times with a loaner. Sometimes it locks and sometimes it doesn't. I'm used to it locking automatically that I don't even notice if it doesn't. I turned it off on my car so I just use fob or door handle to lock so I know it's locked

Not to sound crazy, but have you considered a faraday cage/bag? They are pretty cheap on Amazon, and will keep it from constantly searching.

That thought occurred to me, if I continue to have issues. I don't think the second key fob can interfere where I have it placed now, but if I continue to have issues, this may be the next step.

The comfort access and fobs on these newer BMWs are atrocious. Coming from a G05, I hated...and still hate, the lock/unlock. I looked like an idiot at the gas station when I would unlock the vehicle, go around to open the fuel door (but not before the car locked), then unlocked again. Then, about 15 seconds after I start fueling and having not moved...locked. The car would constantly lock itself over and over, which makes me wonder how intelligent it really is. Time will tell how long the battery in the fob lasts. It's just annoying, since I typically love having both lock and unlock enabled. my primary and spare key are located about 20ft from the vehicle, so I think I am good.

I feel you...I did this once, and of course...it started to rain. I looked like a magician trying to wave my magic key card back and forth. This is the reason I am not upset about the Apple CarKey unavailable on my vehicle.

The last few days, it's becoming increasingly difficult to even start the car. Takes 2-3 presses of the engine start button sometimes to get it to fire up. Losing confidence.
