First Oil Change Grace Period

What is the latest possible date/mileage you could have the first oil change performed on a 2023 330xi lease? What is the maximum grace period of the oil change service?
If the oil change is overdue, is there a grace period within which you should urgently schedule the service to prevent any potential issues or warranty, etc? TYIA

There is a charge at lease turn in if you fail to perform an oil change, but i am not sure about timeline.
They would definitely try to deny warranty if something happens to the car that can be attributed to a missed oil change
It's free, get it done, takes an hour

It will get done, I was just wondering of the overdue grace period to still be protected by warranty? For example, serviced within 3 months or 2,000 miles?

Get it changed when the car tells you to. It’s free.

I’m confused. Why would you delay a free service for several thousand miles?

I’ve run mine a few hundred miles past the miles on the service reminder because I was on a long road trip. The dealer didn’t even mention it when I got the service done.

Is this true: "All cars serviced within 3 months or 2,000 miles (whichever is earlier) of the service indicator will be protected in full by any applicable warranty."

How many miles over or the maximum time period over before you get in trouble or void the warranty or something?

I think you are repeating the same question; the responder is asking why you’d want to go over the maximum period for something that is free?

I don’t think there is any penantly beyond a couple hundred miles but a considerable mileage over the recommended interval could be getting into slippery terrain.

It’s not always about miles but also about the interval: 10k miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Change your oil when the computer asks for it.

When the OCI exceeds 12 months/mileage as specified in IDrive(i.e. misses by a mile,a month), an event is likely logged in ECU, and BMW can use that record to deny coverage of components related to the oil change, e.g. if the engine seizes, a record of "missing OCI" is not good.

My two cents? If you can't do it at the specified mileage, do it as soon as possible afterward. That's all you can do, right?

I went to the service center to get oil changed when 3000miles heads up popped up.
They said come back when its 1500miles.

It's from the dealers not officially proven.

This is because you were too early, and BMWNA will not accept the claim/pay the dealer for the service under the free maintenance plan if it is too early.

That is kind of weird. On the 2021 330i, I got the oil changed at 5,000 miles, even though it was not specified until 10,000. I did not have to pay for it.

As soon as possible.

Grace depends on what breaks and who looks at the situation at hand.
