Need some sage wisdom on a used '22 vs new '24 M440i
I'm in the fortunate position of currently having a choice between a lightly used '22 (9k miles) or a new '24 M440i gran coupe.
Price differential is coming in around $3k more for the '24. The thing is...I think I kind of hate iDrive8 on the '24. Looks tacky and rushed. Not the sporty M440i look I'm expecting. BUT, the prospect of getting 2-model-year newer AND new for only a few grand more would seem like a no-brainer...Any bimmer-heads got sage wisdom for me? |

What's the spec on them? Does the 22 have the dreaded manual seats?

I’d go for the ‘24 with that small of a price gap for a brand new car. You’ll get used to idrive 8

Id8 isn't that bad, I think a lot of people just don't like change but I will say its sometimes annoying that the climate controls aren't buttons, but oh well. '24 sounds better... brand new car that you know no one has messed with, driver assist, longer time you'll be under warranty.

I think id8 looks ridiculous, and I prefer actual buttons for certain features. I also don't care for any driver "assist" features, so I would choose the '22 provided it's been well-taken care of.

For $3,000 I’d have a hard time telling you to go with the ‘22 even though I HATE the humongous iPad. For $5,000 I’d have a little easier time doing that, but still…… Why is the price difference so small?! It can’t be just the low mileage, can it? I can’t figure it out. To me it doesn’t make sense. I REALLY hate the iPad, so I would choose the ‘22 even though it’s only $5,000 less. Has BMW cut features and/or equipment on the ‘24? Is the ‘22 a CPO?
