Aftermarket towbar for G21?

Hi guys, my G21 is on the order but now I'm thinking if I should've ordered the towbar option.

Do I understand correctly this can be done later if needed? Has anybody done that with G21? How does it affect the warranty?
Any suggestons?

You can add a detachable towbar later but it won't cost you much less than having the electrically deployed towbar from the factory.

And adding the electrically deployed towbar later will cost you MUCH MORE.

If you think you're going to use it, and can still change the order, i would definitely do that. I use a towbar mounted bike rack and the amount i save on fuel compared to having bikes on the roof, plus not getting a hernia lifting bikes up and down, is worth it!

Yes thanks, I will probably add it. I'm not that sure I need it but you're right, it's probably more convenient for a bike rack too, which is more likely that me actually towing anything.

Have factory fitted one on my 330e Saloon. Mainly for bike rack and definitely worth it.

I bought 320d G21 last June which was 9 months old. Demonstrator well loaded with extras by dealer but no towbar. I paid £750 to have detachable one fitted which was much less than dealer wanted.
I had factory fitted electric towbar on my previous X5 and would definitely have had one again if I could have but not cost effective.

Apologies for resurecting an old thread but does anyone have any photos of the factory fitted towbar deployed and when it's stowed away?
