I am certain at some point.

I was among the first in the states to own a 350Z. Silver Performance Model, Manual. I really enjoyed that car. Fun story... The first weekend I drove it, I was at a light and a Murciélago pills up next to me. I'm over here drooling at that Italian Beast and the driver looks over and gives me a Thumbs Up. I was pretty giddy the whole day! 😁
Although the 400Z is an evolution not a Revolution, it manages to be "relevant" and head turning. And the stock power to price is solid! But the potential to unlock 100+hp more for minimal money makes it that much more appealing.

Since we're on the subject, here's a few pics of mine way back in the day...

Those dates are for the Japanese market.

Still up in the air, but right now the assumption is that North America is actually first priority, followed by Japan and then Australia/whoever else is getting it. The Z was officially revealed back in August of last year for North America where as it's just now officially being revealed for Japan at TAS in the next day or so. Also, nearly all cars that have been spotted in Japan during transport for shipping have been LHD, NA spec.

Nissan's US website still shows the Z as launching Spring 2022, so if they hold to that technically it could be anywhere from Mar 20-Jun 21, but hopefully cars start hitting showrooms by April or May.

Because it comes standard with a manual and doesn't look like it just rolled out of a Fast & Furious set.

Should be significantly cheaper - possibly up to $10k cheaper for a base Z compared to a base 3.0 Supra. I'm holding out for a Nismo version but if a base Z and 2.0 Supra are the same price, which would most people choose?

Looks - Obviously subjective, but the Mk5 is a horrible looking car to me. I have other issues with it as well, but no reason to beat that dead horse here. On the other hand, I was in love with the look of the Z from the Proto reveal back in Sept. 2020.

6MT - Sounds like the Supra is definitely getting a manual, but the Z with a 6MT will be out first. Not sure how long it will take for a 6MT Supra to make it to dealers.

Keeping my 335i w/N54 - don't care to own another car with a turbo BMW engine. First car was a 240SX, I've owned both a 350Z and 370Z, and have been hoping for the return of a TT Z, so this is a pretty easy decision for me.

No doubt in my mind that the Supra will outperform the Z in all categories, even in the aftermarket. The B58TU is a hell of a motor and takes practically nothing to gain 100whp. Wouldn't mind owning one if something ever happened to my 335i, but not in a Supra and not in place of this Z.

400hp sports coupe with a manual option. Rumored starting msrp range from $35k-$40k. So minimum $11k less than Supra 3.0.

Agreed. It's like they are trying to mimic the look of the bumper on the 240Z. It doesn't work for me.

There is no way the base is going to be $35k if the Proto is going for over $60k.

$35k has been ruled out for some time now. I'm betting very close to $40k will be the price of the base Z in the US. $60k for the Proto Spec is in Japan. I can't recall what the base price of a new 370Z was in Japan, but I feel like it was more than our base price. I could be wrong. If dealers charge ADM on the Proto in the US then I won't be surprised at all if we see them being listed for $70k+

It is never a straight currency conversion to figure your market's msrp. It is 2022, we should know this by now.

For example:
Supra 3.0 - 7,313,000 JPY (~$64k US)
Actual US Supra 3.0 msrp - $51.5k

This. There was only ever ONE outlet that said $35k and it was literally on their "rumor section" of a site known for spreading falsehoods.

Every reputable outlet has said a starting base of "around $40k" for months now.

I expect the Performance trim to be in the $47-49k range.
