My 2020 Black Saphire Metallic G20 M340i
New member, but have had the car since May 2020. Pretty much every option on this car.. Interior is Tartufo Full Merino Leather. Love this car. Fun to drive and practical. Just stumbled upon this site and am enjoying all the discussion and chat.
Yes, my neighbourhood is a construction zone....so my car will be clean for exactly 20 minutes, lol... Cheers! |

Have you taken it through an automated car wash? Looks to have a ton of swirling, shame because it looks to be a beautiful car

Yeah, the swirling is simply poorly applied wax at the moment. Its been through touchless car washes only. I have a California Dust Mop which keeps the car semi-respectable between washes. No run flats for summer (winters are Blizzak run flats) but I have purchased BMW's tire/wheel protection service since my last car (2018 WRX) blew two winter tires in one winter....potholes.

You have more than poorly applied wax happening. Your California Dust Mop for one isn't doing you any favors.

Black the hardest colour to maintain and those scratches and swirl marks..
Why not consider hand washing with proper washing technique to reduce those scratches and swirls? |

I personally would be embarrassed to post a pic of my car looking like that!!!! But then again I would never allow my car to look like that in the first place!!!

OP - nice car! Enjoy it. I also have a BSM M340 and I love it. You might want to think about getting a professional paint correction, then hand washing the car from then on. I got my car ceramic coated a month after I bought it. Does that prevent scratches? I doubt it, but it is easier to clean. Black cars are a pain and I've had to just accept that mine will look dirty more often, but when it's clean, the paint still seems to be in good shape. Good luck. |

Beautiful color. We have the same one currently.
Curious, how is the real estate market there? Are those homes all sold out or are still upcoming phases. Also what price range are they? If you feel uncomfortable sharing on the forum feel free to PM me. (I am a real estate investor so always curious about other areas)

I would take it to an experienced detailer... If you try to DIY it yourself without experience then you may make it worse. However, if you got time on your hand to play around with a panel then I say go for it. However, polishing too much can actually do more harm than good.
