Will the hole in the taillight get water?

I see multiple holes like this in the 430i taillight. Does it cause water or dust?

Think it’s supposed to be for condensation, but unless your cars constantly submerged then you shouldn’t have to worry about much. Don’t think there’s a vacuum there that’ll suck water in.

Are you sure there is a hole? My G22 has similar marks in both lights but there is no hole. (Marks from manufacturing I guess.)
