M340i pressures for PS4S coming from RFTs
As per title I'm 90% going for PS4S when my tyres are due, which should be just into the new year, rears currently at 3.5mm. I've only done 10k miles so the rear wear is a little odd but hey..
I'll have to replace all 4 anyway due to xdrive come the time so it's a good time to switch. Currently have Bridgestone Turanza RFT and run them at 39 PSI front and rear but looking at wear, especially in rear I think this is too much as the middle is more worn than the outers. Just wondered what those who had switched to non rft run pressure wise to get even wear across tread. I'm in UK and have the staggered 225 F 225 R in 19s if it matters.. TIA |

The new tires have a QR code on the sidewall and the installer is supposed to read the QR code and register the new tires with iDrive. In theory, once iDrive has that info it will provide the correct recommended pressures in iDrive. Then you may need adjust pressures up or down based on your driving needs (usually higher pressure for continuous high speeds or spirited driving).
However, I don’t know how well this system really works and how granular it is. For example, it might adjust for runflat vs standard tires, but would it also adjust for tire brand if the manufacturer had different recommendations? |

I have a '22 M340i with PS4Ss in staggered configuration from factory (225/40/19 XL front and 255/35/19 XL rear). Recommended cold inflation pressures are 38 PSI front and rear per door jamb sticker.
