I just noticed my 23 m3 with Full black merino has plastic knee pad.
I thought it should have come with stitched leather.

Anyone else have this issue?

6mt cars don’t come with the leather knee pads.

This is going to be your best bet. They make oem ones in alcantara. Just don’t order the part number in the video, unless your car is right hand drive. It “looks” like the part number for left hand drive vehicles, is 51955A271B6. But I would confirm, first, if you want to order.

I was actually about to post regarding this, I’ve also got full merino and my knee pads aren’t plastic however it looks and feels like fake leather with stitching. I believe it’s part of the cost cutting excercise from MY23 onwards because when I test drove MY22 I clearly remember it having proper merino leather.

they don't work on the 6mt, the console is physically a different shape. they specifically note it as incompatible here https://www.bmwpartspros.com/oem-par...ds-51955a271b6

incompatible due to different shape of the console on the 6MT cars, i'm assuming they simply didnt produce a separate padded version due to the lower production volume on the base cars.

My first G80 has plastic ones. My current one has leather. Its a big difference in comfort. Get whatever you can. It really helps IMO.

In that case, I would have them rewrapped, or something similar.
