The answer to the "what do we have to do..." question is always to respond with, "get me as close as you can to my original request. I'm not in a rush."

Regarding the loyalty incentive, I generally rely on the Edmunds message boards for up to date lease incentives. This is the thread where I saw the $2000 loyalty number. You can post there, with your zip code, and they will get you up to date numbers. Just ask specifically for what incentives you want; i.e. if you don't ask for loyalty or conquest, many times they don't post it. |

I just got an ever better response than the last.
This m340i was 60,960 so I offered 11% off MSRP. He responded with the car being 67,000 and he is only willing to offer 2 or 3 grand off and that we are too far apart so to have a nice day. I just responded that I don't know how he got that cost but he needs to update his listing. He then tries to call me but I hit the ignore button so he texts me asking I was talking about a x3 m40i. Makes no sense because he just needs to scroll up in his text and see I asked about a white 2020 m340i. I think he was trying to play dumb and maybe hope I would give up on trying to get a better deal but he just turned me off to the sale. He offered "his best" of $4000 off plus $3000 in incentives but still a terrible deal I feel for California. Not even going to counter offer. |

I have found if you insult them off the bat, they don't want to play ball. If you have a reasonable request and tell them dealer ABC is willing to do $xxx, they are more willing to work with you since they know you are shopping and have worked numbers.

A little bit of respect and courtesy usually goes a long way. If you're polite and respectful, more often than not, the salesman will be happy to play ball. Same as when you get pulled over. There's a little saying I love that goes like this: "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

I agree with both posts above me. Come in reasonable, but firm. If they can't get to the numbers you want, be polite and move on. Sometimes they will come back to you, even if you get turned down initially.
But if they think you are going to be a troublesome customer or give a poor post-sale rating (which affects their performance reviews both internal and from corporate), they will just throw out a crazy number to get rid of you. |

These past few days i found that all the dealers around me with the last remaining 2020 models are barely wanting to offer around 6% off MSRP. I guess i know why they have those models still sitting on their lot.

Have you considered a '21? Even ordering one you can get pretty strong discounts at the moment. |

BTW has getting the Vernasca leather felt worth it to those of you who've optioned it ? I've sat in the Synthetic black seats and they were surprisingly comfortable when compared to the F30 seats. Haven't gotten a chance to try the real leather ones but just curious if I should try them or save $1500. |

i have a 2020 m340i i'm looking to lease, can anyone chime in on this.
Numbers are as follows: MSRP: 57330 Sales Price: 49331 (including a corporate discount of $2k) 36 month / 12k miles per year 58% residual .00047 MF 7 MSD Looking at around $510/month with right around $1k drive off plus the MSD. Leasehackr rates this at 9.7 years basically, I'm going to ask for $800 more off and hope for $500 which puts it right at 10 years. This price includes shipping from Houston to California I haven't told them about the corporate discount yet either.

First lease, did I get a good deal?
I'm about to get my first new BMW with a lease but I have a couple of questions. I know most of you guys here are from the USA but since I'm from the EU I'll convert the price to USD/EUR, the car is a G20 with a few options...
Full price: 41.000€ / $48,650 Discounted price: 35.700€ / $42,350 Initial payment: 5500€ / $6500 Lease cost of 550 € / $650 per month for 36 months Milage: 30000km / 18500 mi per year The cost per month includes local taxes like VAT (19%) and full insurance (~$90) After 36 months, I have the option to pay for the rest of the car or lease another new one. I'm not really planning to purchase it. How does this deal look? This is the first offer I got after I sent the dealer my configuration, should I try to negotiate a better deal? |

I'd suggest you ask your dealer for the pricing. Mine was able to give me pricing on all the options. Is there a specific option you want the price for?

Hey All. Lurked here a lot, but wanted to give back.
I did a lot of negotiation to purchase a 2021 M340i from dealers east of the Mississippi. The best MSRP discount I got was 10%, but their trade-in value was quite low compared to other dealers. I got the local dealer to hit an 8.5% MSRP discount. Some dealers wouldn't go over 7.5% and others couldn't go over 6%. Nearly every dealer would do a factory order for the same discount they said they would give me for a car on their lot. The deal I went with was $66,320 MSRP (w/ destination) - 5637 Discount - 2000 BMW FS Rebate - 500 BMW Loyalty for adjusted price of $58,183. Nearly every dealer was doing 2.9% (1.9% promotional for Oct + 1% dealer rate). They gave me a great trade-allowance and their local so it was the best deal for me. A dealer in Maryland would've built me a car for 10% off MSRP, but he was lowballing the trade and that killed the deal. |

$719/mo with $12k down (it's a loan not lease) and about $8k in trade-in credit (paying off the loan obviously drops the equity amount). Total amount financed at $39937. I'd like to see if I can get them to knock down the dealer rate so it's just the 1.9%. That'll put me sub $700 at like $698. I'm doing a factory-order, so hoping that I can get the best deal of Oct, Nov, Dec.
