Maybe it's just me? Any thoughts?

I'm new here, BTW. Just got my car a couple of weeks ago and I love it.

The question is, how many tenths of a second register as a noticeable difference. When you say it "feels like" it accelerates in less than 4.1, do you mean like 4.0 vs. 4.1 vs. 4.2?

(This is just for the sake of conversation, I'm fully aware 0-60 is actually less than 4.1 given good conditions).

I haven't actually done a full launch control, still breaking it in I wasn't sure if it was going to be bad for the car, its a 3 year lease so

I don't think it is noticeable. Some cars that do 0-60 in 4.5 can "feel" faster if there is more drama involved in the acceleration. The M340i I find is deceptively fast 0-60. I would not guess it's a sub 4 second car until I look down at the speedo.

Yeah agreed. Lots of variables involved, including personal tolerance levels.

I will say, the m340i does feel faster than my Q50 RS did which had a 0-60 time of ~4.5s. But not significantly faster.

The lack of it being a weighty car helps fool you into thinking it's faster than it really is.

I also own an M5 and while it's a monster of a highway car (and faster than the M340i by far), it doesn't FEEL as fast from a dead stop. It's a lot of vehicle to move and that V8 does its best.

That said, BMW has always underplayed their 0-60 numbers, especially on this M340i sedan. Nearly every major review has said as much.
