330i Engine Recall?

Following a check of my vehicle's VIN for recalls, I discovered a recall for engine needle roller bearings. I'll spare the explanation and post screenshots with the specifics, but I am curious to know if anyone has received a notification for this recall. Very interested in getting your take as the description of repair calls for engine replacement...

Did you get a recall notice in the mail? Where did you find it?

I checked my VIN using the following:

https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls.html

I'm sure the link varies for those outside the US. Nothing received in the mail yet.

No open recalls for mine. And that’s weird that they’re calling for an engine replacement. On the good side, if it is a proper engine replacement, you’re getting a brand new engine.

A day for a full engine replacement? Is it an F1 team doing the recalls?!

An engine replacement being prescribed for a recall sounds odd to me. I'll be on the phone with my SA to determine the way ahead.

An engine recall would be on the news. Unless you are very unfortunate and there was an issue affecting just a few cars, including yours, and they could track it down.

But if that was the case, why not calling you directly? I wouldn’t expect more than 0.1% of the owners getting into a website to check for recalls...

No clue. The only reason I found it was because I was bored and thought I'd run my VIN to see if any recalls are out on it. I've checked elsewhere and have not heard of anyone else affected with the same recall. Hope to have more info this week.

Did not find recalls for my 330i also. When did you buy your car?

From what I recall, there are about 200 cars in North America with the B46/48 engine that are affected by this recall. Majority of the cars affected are the 2019 330i.

If I were you I would use this as an opportunity to go thrash the current engine on the track before getting it replaced.

Found it:

https://www.cars.com/articles/2019-2...-alert-412155/

Spoke with my SA earlier- Engine is on order, and should take about an estimated two weeks to arrive at the dealer. I'll be driving the car like I stole it until replacement time.

Do a few launch control 0-60 and 0-100 runs. Record a video of the speedometer if you can and post it for us please
