And weirdly enough in the E90/E92 generation the ratio was far closer. I have no idea why.

Do you think it's because the E90 sedan came out a little later than the E92 or the E46 had coupe/convertible only?

I think they would cancel the 2-series before the 4-series. The 2er sold in small numbers when it was just coupe and vert, and now the vert is dead. The GC will significantly outsell the coupe as well. I don't want them to cancel the 2er (as its the best BMW at the moment), but if they do cancel a coupe I see them going that route, and leaving a compact (although now mid-size) coupe left as their sole offering.

Well I believe the M2 is pretty successful, so they'd have to keep the coupe around for that reason. It would be odd having the M2 as a stand-alone model. Maybe the 220 would be axed?

Oh yes, the M2 is successful, I'm just saying if they were to get rid of a coupe, I would think they'd get rid of the 2 before the 4. The 4 is likely the most successful coupe in the lineup so I would think from a business point of view it would be the last to go.
