Best is to keep the ratio difference withing 1%.

OEM is 0,4%

The size you are suggesting is 2,2%

235/40 F
265/35 R
is 0,4%

245/35
255/35
at 0.8% could work

245 or 255 Square could be a good option also.

I agree, the difference in circumference is too big for an xdrive, it will put more pressure on the transfer case and cause premature wear.
If you wanted to keep a pair of the tyres you have bought you could go with:
Front - 245/40r19
Rear - 275/35r19 (if that will fit)
0.6% difference

Although something you should also keep in mind is how the change also impacts your speedo & odometer... assuming your OEM front tyres were 225/40r19 then changing to 245/40r19 would result in your speedo under-reading by 2.3% (unless you can adjust the on board computer)

Might be worth double checking they'll fit on the standard rims (assuming that's what you have?) 8.5" I believe if you had 255 as standard.
