I'd recommend the JB4. Had a Racechip GTS Black and it kept throwing Drivetrain faults during hot weather and spirited drives. Biggest downside about the Racechip is that it blindly adds boost to the car without understanding the current parameters of the car.

JB4 is piped into your OBD data and hence, serves as a means to protect the powertrain if necessary/prevent errors like the one above. I currently am using a JB4

Hi Guys, Is there anyone interested in buying used Racechip Black with app control for B58?
I am upgrading my car (M340i) with MHD and don't need the Racechip anymore. It's in perfect order and has all the cables and installation booklet.
It is especially useful for owners of BMW M340i produced after 06/2000 with locked DME/ECU that require very expensive FEMTO unlock in Finland.
Easy to install, so you can enjoy extra power.

I have a RaceChip GTS black for my M440i and have been very happy with it. Just FYI customer support stated that it gives up to 0.2bar or 2.9psi increased boost overall.

Then the boost is much higher with the JB4

Their answer “The performance difference between the mappings is approximately 2-3%. The boost pressure is increased overall by up to 0.2 bar. Unfortunately, we cannot give you exact values for each map.”

Does anyone know the difference between the Max boost structure JB4 and Race Chip? Which one would build up its max boost the fastest in the low revs? This would then have its max NM the fastest.

Map0: Stock tuning, fully disable JB4
Map1: Additive map with peak of 3psi over stock added (91 octane)
Map2: Additive map with peak of 4psi over stock added (91-93 octane)
Map3: Additive map with peak of 6psi over stock added (93+ octane)
Map4: Absolute target map with peak of 20psi target (93+ and/or E30 octane) suggested for higher boost models like G chassis, Supra, and Z4. EWG required for proper control.
Map5: Absolute target map with peak of 22psi target (E30+ fuel) suggested for higher boost models like G chassis, Supra, and Z4. EWG required for proper control.
Map6: Custom tuning map allowing both additive (below 10psi) and absolute (above 10psi) targeting. Setting RPM1500 boost below 5.7psi will make entire map6 additive, setting above 6psi will make entire map6 absolute target.
Map7: WMI map (boost varies based on WMI additive, meth flow, and other criteria)

depends on the map, if the added PSI is the same, you will get the same power with either one.
