Weekend only, go for a GT car.

981 GT4, 996 GT3, or even better....997.1 GT3 with some miles is within reach of that budget.

911 all day every day IMO. Every time I see a 992, it makes me feel a certain type of way. Pretty sure it makes my wife jealous.

The M3CS will depreciate differently than the 991T. To be honest, the 911T is just a badge on a basic-ish Carrera. The M3CS will be more special if you are holding the car long term and it is significantly more rare. The likelihood is that the M3 will be a much more aggressive machine. If you were comparing the M3CS to a 911GTS possibly, I would highly consider the Porsche but in the 911T tier, I would opt for the M3. 992s aren't as engaging as many people are mentioning. Also, if the 911T is manual version, you may have already made your choice just simply by placing it into contention for your next ride.

Also note, I am a pcar fanboy and have owned many (older ones).

Wouldn’t say they are easy to come by. All MY23 allocations have essentially been granted by now. While the price raise doesn’t guarantee appreciation, it certainly doesn’t mean the car depreciated. Net net the argument is a better value hold than a CS. Which given the 991 Ts current values vs the F80 CS, is unquestionable.

How much seat time do you have behind the 992? I always find it shocking when folks have matter of fact opinions without having spent considerable time behind the wheel of both cars, but alas, here we are.

The GTS is out of the question - well equipped you’re closer to $200k. On the rarity point - that didn’t seem to help F80 CS values (which, pre-covid, were in the low 60s). I love constructive discourse, but these takes feel off.

Agree.
The m3cs is a cool car but it won’t be worth much in the future versus any other m3. We’re talking like 25 years here right?

Cause none of them are going to appreciate in the near term.

That being said, neither will the 911T.
It is a dressed up base Carrera. 25 years from now all these cars could be valuable but in the near term I really doubt it.

From the front lines, I'm not sure I can agree with that. If 991.2 911T prices are any indication, the scarcity alone for the 911T has helped its value by a measurable margin over the 991.2 base 911.

Had a PECLA day in a Carrera S. My pops has a GTS and my buddy has an S. I drive both a reasonable amount and have done some local canyon runs pushing both machines. Still stand firmly on my opinion. I have also owned 996s, 997s and driven multiple 991s. I prefer the older P cars solely for the engagement factor.

Im not chasing lap times and I tend to prefer manual machines even if they are "sub-optimal."

Also, the M3CS is auto only and this car is very much catered to the automatic ZF8. The manual is an afterthought. Hopefully we can see the Carrera GTS or base GT4/GT3 tested against the M3CS in the future as I believe they are more in line with the performance.

Not knocking the 911 T, but you get virtually nothing over the base for the price difference. Some may think that's fine, but a base car versus a special, limited edition that performs better and is much more luxurious and practical--although that isn't high on your list, is how I would look at it. Of course, it would have to be an M4 as the sedan doesn't interest me at all.

For about $11K over a base, you do get:
- Manual transmission (not available on base)
- Sport suspension with PASM w/ lowered ride height
- Sport exhaust
- Mechanical limited-slip differential w/ torque-vectoring (not available on base)
- Sport Chrono Package
- Sports Seats Plus
- GT Sport Steering Wheel
- 20" and 21" Titanium-colored Wheels
- ~80 - 100 fewer pounds (mostly due to manual)
- Optional rear-wheel steering (not available on base)

I had a 991.2 Carrera T. It was an amazing driver's car on the street, and I'd imagine the new one is too.

If it helps I traded in a 2021 911 C4 on the new M3 CS and have no regrets. The CS is amazing car. I also had a 2022 M4 Xdive coupe and the CS feel totally different.

Based on my time with multiple 992 S and GTS and my CSL, I'd go with a CS over a T. The performance delta is significant. T allocations are easily found relative to other variants; I wouldn't count on that car depreciating any slower than the CS, given that the M3 Comp xDrive is the highest-demand G8x variant. A 4-door AWD CSL is potentially an all-time great car, and not just for BMW or M.

I wouldn't swap a CS/CSL for anything less than a 992 GTS.

More than I thought. Like the GTS, where does it stand if you price in those options on the base? At least the ones you can. Manual is the wildcard I imagine.
