In the UK you can pick up a 330e in M Sport spec less than 12 months old from a BMW dealer with anything from 2-7k miles on the clock for £30k 🤔

Yet if you're financing via PCP the deals on brand new still work out cheaper with BMW lower APR on factory orders.

The OP is somewhere in the 'EU' 🤷🏻*♂️

I was suggesting another potential option after a barely used 330i had been thrown in the mix as an alternative to the brand new 318i @ €35k

Seems here in the UK that dealers have 330e demo's and then get stuck as the private market doesn't seem very strong, so prices look low?

No idea what the used market is like in the 'EU' for a 330e 🤔

Depends, over here there are 0 330e and the few 320/330s are 2 years old and cost more than a new 318i.

Can confirm it.
Also the MSRP price difference between the 318i and the 320i is ridiculous - about 3000-3200€. Thats why Im leaning towards the 318i and a stage1 after a few years.

MSRP here was 4100€. When you add the lease interest and the higher taxes it jumped to almost 7000€ for 5 years which sounded ridiculous for 28 hp.

318i manual transmission technical specifications

Hi, does anyone know where to get the pdf document for this version?

I'd like to know if it shares the same "long" gearing with the 318d.

Gear ratios:
I :1 4,110
II :1 2,248
III :1 1,403
IV :1 1,000
V :1 0,786
VI :1 0,601
Final drive :1 3.154

And have there been savings for this "entry level" G20? Smaller brakes, less noise insulation etc.?

Edit: Ok, the "other stick shift" petrol G20 M3 has a much lower gearing. It should be closer to this.

I :1 4,111
II :1 2,315
III :1 1,542
IV :1 1,179
V :1 1,000
VI :1 0,846
Final drive :1 3.462

That's for the 8-speed automatic transmission.

oops my bad.

I’d agree that the ratio should be closer to the petrol variant you posted earlier

Very interesting that almost no information can be found on the 318i's 6-speed transmission. I've been looking at the 318d 6-speed transmission, and it appears that the most current one is GS6L40LZ - HA7. Curiously enough, this one is shared with the G29 Z4 20i, at least as per RealOEM. It would be really weird for BMW to produce several models of a 6-speed transmission in this market, and I'm assuming they actually used the same transmission in the 318i manual (seeing that it was good enough for the Z4 and cheap enough for the 318d). Since the Z4 20i was rated for 320 Nm, it may be safe to assume further that the manual G20 318i should also be able to handle a bit more than the stock 250. Would be nice to actually have a confirmation from someone who ordered a 318i manual.

No. Even the mighty M340i is not quick and live enaugh (too heavy). 318i is underpowered for G20 chassis. Try to get at least 330i. 330i goes as 3 series should go.
