Hey everyone,
I have a 2019 330i. Right now I have a JB+ on it set at around 2.3 psi. So far it feels great, much smoother and pulls hard in the low rpm range. Soon I will be buying and installing a Dinan intake Dinan Intake: https://www.dinancars.com/products/i...arts/D760-0070 I am also considering installing a downpipe but I’m on the fence. If I were to do it, I want something that doesn’t give a CEL, doesn’t have a strong smell, and is good quality. I’ve checked out a couple threads and it seems like everyone agrees that the AA catted downpipe is the way to go AA Downpipe: https://x-ph.com/active-autowerke-bm...tted-downpipe/ Is it really worth it? I’m looking for a more sporty drive but don’t want to compromise anything as this is my daily. Honestly, a downpipe and intake is the furthest I will go with performance modification. The only reason I am considering it is because I want to bring the JB+ up to 3.5 psi but am adraid it won’t do well with the stock system. Considering that, is it a waste to spend the money? Will the downpipe create a noticeable difference or is it over the top for the place I’m at? Just looking for some outside perspectives because nobody I know has experience with this. Thank you! |

The downpipe and intake will upgrade the sound and performance of the car; if that is what you are looking for, then it's certainly worth it.
If the only reason you are getting them is to be able to increase the JB+ to 3.5 PSI, then it's not worth it, as you can increase the JB+ to 3 PSI without any mods.

Thank you all for the info. I feel reassured since you all speak very highly of it. Will definitely purchase. Do you have a website you recommend or is it good to get it straight from AA? I saw some other posts saying you are involved with sales of some sort.

I am in the USA, does that mean I should buy the one listed for B46 engines? Just want to make sure I get the right one. |

Yes, downpipes are definitely worth the investment, even the AA brand, which is known to be one of the more expensive options. While there are other brands that offer good quality at a lower price point, they may trigger your check engine light (CEL) as well.

If you are going to buy a downpipe you should consider flashing the stage 2 map (custom or OTS). Without the tune, it's kind of pointless to spend money on a downpipe. 2019 has no problem with DME unlock
