Resonator delete or no

Currently have an MPE, looking to get more sound and burbles. Going for an AA downpipe, but don't know if I should do res del as well since I'm looking for burbles.

If anyone has a res delete, how is the droning? It shouldn't be too bad right? (I'm hoping)

I don't believe these cars come with resonators from the factory (including your MPE). I run AA downpipe and MPE and love it

Our stock midpipe has a resonator.

OP, I suggest you get the downpipe first and see how you like it. I went 4.5" catless and it's a bit much for my liking. Wish I would have went with a cat but oh well.

There's no resonator on the m340i and i'm pretty sure the m440i doesn't either.

So then why tf are our cars so goddamn quiet, even with catback compared to 2020 g20. No way the mild hybrid plays that much of a role in burbles.

BMW tuned out the burbles and upshift sounds on all 2021+ model year m340i/m440i. You will need a tune such as mhd or bm3 to get them back.

Oh? I must have been mistaken then...

I thought the attached picture was the resonator. The wider part of the center pipe.

Upgrading the downpipe is the better option for more volume.

I prefer the catted downpipe tone, but if you want a max increase in sound, catless is an option.

Don't think there's a resonator. Here's a resonated G20, for comparison.

I just installed my AA catted DP that I bought from mike@x-ph.com and I love it. Honestly it is louder than I expected it to be and the sound is perfect. When I start my car up in a parking lot, if someone is around they almost always look over to see what just started ;0)
