So tomorrow the former bearded warrior has his last day in his old job. Tomorrow at 9 am he will be driving himself and his computers to Helsinki, 170 km. Then he will again to drive himself back here and...

His new employer will not have their offices open before next spring.

As mentioned before, I'm a very calm and thoughtful person so I applied for a job today. They called me back in like ten minutes and offered me the position straight away. unfortenatelythey told me i can work from home for it and I'd get an office in March or so.

I declined, I'll be in jail by then. I'll just spend the week or two I still have studying swedish, then homeschooling. and since I have pics from last spring, no jury will send me to the big house for life if the hubby tries to do another 6 months of bad facial hair.

I feel a bit like what this guy must have experienced:

https://www.today.com/parents/wife-r...e-2021-t199511

I grew up as an only child so had a lot of alone time. Suddenly not being alone was great. I don't really get bored of my wife and could be with her for ages. She enjoys baking, Netflix and, cleaning. I enjoy DIY and detailing the cars. We both have our escapes and hobbies. We go for walks together when we can.

When I was in the work office she started going walking by herself and enjoyed it. Listening to music.

Equally being left to my own devices is not a problem. I could DIY for days on end and not be around her much.

I used my skills to make an office at home. Made my own desk... bookshelves... she started using it when I was at work. She was usually dead against a study... curls up on the couch with her laptop. Always said how comfortable it was and how she'd never use the study.

Lord. When I told her I wouldn't be going back to the office until April 2021 she absolutely lost it. I was on the verge of tears. Then she went on about it's not you it's me. I told her I could join the reserves and be posted by the end of the week. She thought I was being drastic. A week passed and she seems to have processed it. This week all I have been hearing is how wonderful it is to have me home. I don't know whether it's got something to do with making lunch and dinner 3 days in a row.

Three is a magic number.
It's strange but no one tells you that true love is when you adore someone but want to roll their body up in a rug.

That would be me. I'm very introverted. My job is very extroverted so it drains me and I need time alone to recharge. I love my husband but don't need to be around him constantly. He would be fine & it wouldn't bother him a bit. If I go for a walk or a bike ride and don't invite him he gets a tad twisted. I've had to explain to him multiple times it isn't you, it's me. I just need some time to myself.

I finally get it now but it took me years! At least a good 10 years. When we met she wasn't driving. She had a horse. In the olden times every had a horse and nobody had a car. Now everyone has a car and it's a luxury to own a horse! She'd spend time at the stables but then her horse passed. So I'd drop her off to work and pick her up. Until she got her license. So that was 4 years of driving or more. Then she found her independence. Fast forward when she was diagnosed with cancer I took her to all her mayo appointments and looked after her at home. I guess you could say she has seen a lot of me. So when she didn't need me or wanted head space I took it very personally. Took me years to get over it. I finally got it. When I "just" want to clean our cars. That's me wanting space. It's no different when she "just" wants to go for a walk alone. I realized that when you love someone you have to let them breathe. Same though about the introvert thing and extrovert job.

I feel like Im the one-off here, but my advice is that it just maybe takes time. My husband when I met him worked out of town all week, and was only home weekends. He would also leave to work in the field, where ever that ended up being but usually on the other side of the country. It was a little different, but you just kinda get over it if you enjoy their company. Then he started a new job that brought him home last November 24/7. Its been great! I still have my own routine through the day, he works in his office, and we meet during his breaks or when he's done to go walk the dog together. We've been together only 4 years, but theres no dull to the honeymoon vibe. He likes cars too so its great.
I should mention, separate hobbies still help for personal time. I've seen my parents go through alot in their 52 years together. And I think that love, time, and hobbies save a relationship. Especially when the kids leave or a major change happens.

First marriage, celebrated our 30th anniversary on Monday, and 23 years of wedded bliss. The first 7 sucked. Wouldn't trade her for anything.

This March is going to be my 30 th wedding anniversary! Went so fast.

We get along great and I adore her. I’d say the best part is she really understands me and we enjoy doing stuff together but we also give each other to space to breathe. I know I’m not easy

My wife and I celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary early this year. We met 5 years before that.

We've had some bumps in the road along the way, but have always managed to work through the problems. We're now enjoying retirement.

Cycling is my escape. An hour or more a day when I'm alone with my thoughts. No phone, no email, no Whatsapp, just my brain purging toxicity. Keeps me sane.

We've never been party folks, so the isolation of this damn pandemic hasn't changed much *except* our habit of eating out 4 or 5 nights a week. But Wifey has really stepped up to the plate with her culinary skills and cooks dinner most nights. I'm retiring in April, so my plan is to learn to cook beyond my current skill set, which starts and ends with boiling water. Having an edible dinner ready for her when she gets home from work (being 10 years my junior, she has no urge to retire) will be my first goal in retirement.

interesting read....

I've been married four times in the last 26 years. The longest was six years the shortest just a year. My one daughter is 25 so you can probably sort out why I got married the first time.

However, this new relationship I've decided on trying a new tactic. Agree with everything she says. We're 8 months in so, we'll see how long this lasts.

Good coffee man, the amount of times I wouldve burned down the house if the hubby just said yes to me... we would have issues by now.

Arguing is not bad, hell I love arguing, I don't even mind being wrong, being wrong means I comprehend my view would not turn out as an outcome I envisioned and I needed to rethink it. Same goes for him.
Get your balls in order. Stop marrying everyone and learn how to have a conversation. Also, buy razors (see op).

It's a huge liability with very little benefits for a man but the opposite is true for women.

Jesus, you tried it out 4 times and you still haven't learned your lesson? You think a woman is going to be happy with a doormat?
