Steering Wheel Trim

Has anybody removed or replaced their steering wheel trim on their G20?
I purchased a carbon fibre replacement but can't find any instructions on how to remove my existing one. Any help would be appreciated.

I got it from china, have a look on Ali Express. It was about a third the price of the OEM trim

Love it. Goes well with the rest of the CF trims!

Yes I think so. The dry carbon weave is not as fine as the oem trim but I thought it was a good compromise given the cost.

Well yes. If you look at it closely, you'll notice the differences. But for the price, I'm sure it's worth it. I've bought lots of stuff from AB/AE and they've all been VFM.

Is that open weave and alcantara like the OEM?

Yes I would say so although as I said before the weave is not as fine as the current OEM version. The fitment & quality is spot on and I also preferer not to have the M Performance logo on the lower section as it looks out of place IMO. They also do a wet carbon trim.

I think the logo would be ok on the trim as a standalone item, or even with the mats but I agree on not having it if you already have the dashboard trim as it's just to much.

Good to hear it's of good quality and it would not bother me to much if it wasn't a perfect match weave wise, so long as it was fairly close.

Do you have a direct link as I've waded through pages of guff and can't find it and do you know if they do a fitment for a heated wheel?

Here are basic trim removal instructions (V2). Remember to disconnect the negative from your battery, No need to remove the steering wheel.

I am morbidly curious...

I just noticed the "metal" trim on my M-sport wheel is bubbling up. I could take the car in to have it replaced under warranty.

Or I could go this route. I'm just not sure if the CF and Alcantra will look out of place with the my cabin's Sensatec and tetragon trim.

Not sure, I guess its down to your own taste. I originally had the tetragon trim before this upgrade but obviously I have a black interior so I think it compliments the CF.

I'd like to find this with options for heated steering wheel and the driver's assistance LEDs or whatever the hell those are.

Hmmm
