Hi, would you mind sharing with me the information you had back from BMW saying the 330e SE was 8% BIK? I ordered the 330e SE Pro model in October using information from the ComCar website showing the 8% BIK rate applied to this model, however when I have returned to ComCar to try to find this now the model (and it's 8% BIK rating) has disappeared altogether! My new 330e arrives in a few weeks and want to make sure I have all the evidence I need for my P11d form. I'm looking forward to my first BMW but will be disappointed if the BIK goalposts have moved in the intervening period. Cheers. |

That swayed me to order the M Sport through Lex, who by the way told me it would have 8% BIK. Luckily I ignored them and used the manufacturer provided numbers instead. |

I spoke with my dealer who confirmed present view that MSport will be 10% BiK if registered after 5th April. Range about 35 miles. Pre April registrations will be at 12%. 10% rate rises to 11% then 12% in 2021 and 2022. There does not seem to be much certainty or consistency.
My lease company initially confirmed at 8% but are now saying they cannot be sure because each car will be different due to spec ef sun roof, tyres, tow bar etc might effect the overall rating. However it will not be 8%. Hope this helps. |

Thanks guys. I have a 330e SE Pro on order through Lex Autolease and since my post, BMW have written to say that the 8% could potentially apply to this model since under NEDC it is rated at 41 miles of electric-only range, since it does not have all the added bells and whistles.
However, they have confirmed that there is currently confusion with the information from Her Majesty's Treasury regarding the way the BIK will be calculated for pre-April 2020 registered cars - mine arrives next week. It seems UK Govt announcements are clear that for new cars registered after April 2020, the WLTP test cycle stats will apply for CO2 and electric-only hybrid miles for the purposes of the CCar Tax bands applicable from April 2020. However, for pre April 2020 registered cars (such as mine) the NEDC rules will apply for CO2 - but nowhere is it confirmed which regime will apply to the electric-only hybrid range part of the 20/21 formula. It appears to be this missing clarity which has caused the confusion since late 2019 and led to some backtracking to the published BIK percentages until certainty is known. At present, BMW has lodged a request for clarity but are currently not able to confirm the correct position on the matter. In my mind, they probably had it right first time, since the clear intention was that taxation based on WLTP would only apply to registrations from April 2020. By virtue of this, NEDC could be the only system available for cars registered before this time. A decision needs to be made soon as there's only 8.5 weeks before the new tax year starts. |

From the BMW website, even the SE Pro won't hit 40 miles on battery only under WLTP regulations.
It's all so confusing, though - I've asked Leaseplan for clarity as they've started to hassle me to order my new car... I've gone back to our HR dept. as WLTP combined with our internal CO2 target means our 'car list' is decimated to just the 225xe and 330e from April! (I guess we will also get the X1 25e, too - but I've requested the Skoda Superb iV and Mini Countryman PHEV to be added at the same time) As you say, with only 8 weeks to go, we need proper clarity over WLTP. |

BMW don’t publish NEDC ranges so you have to ask them direct. |

BMW haven't tested the 330e to NEDC standards, they are using a back calculation from WLTP to derive CO2 under NEDC.
Published electric only range from 1st Jan 2019 has always been using WLTP testing. Below is from the ComCar website, my bible when it comes to choosing company cars! |

Thanks for the update. Mine should be here before April and Lex told me 8% but I'm pretty sure the M Sport will be 12%, it's the wider tyres that limit electric only running I guess.
I agree it's pretty rubbish that we both don't know what tax we would be paying at point of order. However it will certainly be a hell of a lot less than a diesel |

As I understand it, no 330e has range over 40miles to get to 8%. |

Anyone planning on charging via extension lead? Just taken delivery of my 330e and lead it comes with is too short. Charge point not installed for another week but wanted charge it up and fear the domestic ones I have will melt! Lol. Anyone help? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is wrong thread!

I think you’re asking for trouble using a domestic extension cable. Not as if your likely to be driving much for the next few weeks anyway! |
