Each wheel barrel will offer different caliper clearance though - not all 19" alloys are equal in the world of clearance. On my F31 for example, I have 400mm under 19". OE 19" F3x wheels would not clear my brake set up, but OE 19" F8x wheels did and now I have Apex VS-5RS wheels (again 19") and they offer even more barrel clearance than the stock F8x wheels did! |

G80 offers a 380mm M disc, but would, as you have seen, require a custom bracket set up. |

Anyone have torque specs for the caliper bolts for the M Perf kit? These look like torque to yield bolts. Read in a couple of other threads that the rears only required torque to yield while the fronts were just torque only. That makes absolutely no sense. Want to get this installed tomorrow but can’t go anywhere with it until I can nail down the specs. Thanks in advance.

Front
- caliper to hub, torque to 110nm - BMW TIS suggests new bolts be used. - brake hose to caliper, torque to 17nm - brake disc retaining screw, torque to 16nm - bleed nipple, torque to 18nm Rear - caliper carrier to hub, torque to 130nm - BMW TIS suggests new bolts be used. - guide bolt, caliper carrier to caliper - 35nm - brake hose to caliper, torque to 24nm - brake disc retaining screw, torque to 16nm - bleed nipple, torque to 17nm Wheel bolts after the job - 140nm. Hope this helps - torques are all taken from the TIS manual. As a side note, why are you fitting the M Perf kit to an M340i? You will not be increasing the rear brake provision at all, simply changing to red calipers. Furthermore, if your car has the track handling package, you will also not be upgrading the front brake provision either! Last edited by blau3er; 05-06-2023 at 01:06 PM.. |

Appreciate the reply! Thanks for all the info. Good stuff. Some of it was already in alignment with some other posts I’ve seen regarding various BMW models. Seems to be a theme here. But good to see the actual numbers. 👍🏻👍🏻
As for why… well, we have some roads here that make “track days” seem rather boring and not very intense. The larger caliper (despite still only being a 4 pot) are great for the increased pad contact patch and greater cooling ability. The rears are definitely the same damn thing. Just different color like you said. But I’m definitely not going to just install half. Paid for the whole set. Cool thing is that ECS is developing 2-piece rotors for the M Performance kit which was a major factor in my decision to go with this over their 2-piece rotor kit for the M Sport brake. M Sports are certainly good. No doubt. They did handle one of those roads without fading. I was shocked. But, they did wind up glazing over pretty badly. Never warped. But not being able to get more than one run in like that is disappointing. Hence, the desire for larger rotors and better cooling. I actually don’t really understand the ZTK package where it speaks of improved cooling. The standard configuration provides plenty of cooling in the channels cut into the front end. But I digress. Thanks again for the info. Lifesaver! |

Well, if you don’t have the track handling package then the fronts will be going from 348mm to 374mm - so certainly a benefit. |

I have a G29 Z4, sDrive30i with the regular brakes. I've been eyeing a set of M Sport brakes from a G20 330i. I understand the G29/G20 all use the same brakes.
Does the collective think I will need an upgraded master cylinder/vacuum accumulator? Much obliged! Edit: I found the info - and answer is No. My apologies for the confusion.

What’s your end goal? The AP Racing are for track cars…. The Brembo following shortly behind. M Performance don’t seem to have enough aftermarket support.
Aren’t the prices all over the map? |

Aftermarket support is actually gaining a bit of traction. Definitely no longer on the back burner.

Just adding this in here -
Confirmation that the F95 X5M calipers do indeed bolt right up onto the G20 (and rest of the G series range such as G30 G11 G15 G01 etc....) Tried it on a G20 hub this evening! |

I bought these calipers, as my next car will be a G21 LCI. I do some buying and selling of brakes - so I have a G2x knuckle here that enabled the test fit. They bolt up to the hub with no issue though, and everything lines up perfectly, with the exception of the disc retaining screws - which wouldn’t be an issue at all once the wheels were torqued down. I’ve got them on eBay at the moment, as it’s likely that it will be some time until I have a G21 purchased! |

Hello.
Few question guys. I have 2020 M340ix with M technology package (in some countries ZTK, option S33T), so i have 374mm front brake rotors. Since i need to change them, i will want to change them with perforated M performance one. Brake pads are the same part number. Can i change mine not perforated rotors with M performance one? Do i need to change something else? Did somebody did this upgrade? |

I had appointment at dealership yesterday for Service Inclusive and for front and back brake pads. But we saw my rotors are on minimum 34,4mm, so i need to change them. Prices for M Performance rotors are 40€ more on each rotor, so its not to much I will put BMW OEM pads at dealership. |
