That's interesting about the rear bushings though. Did you try to reach out to H&R and ask them about it?
Not yet and since I did not do the install and was not there it's harder for me to give much details on this situation. I try to do these kind of installs myself but it required an engine craddle to drop the front subframe and I did not have the required equipment. I think it took around 4 hours of work to do front and rear.
Interesting, is this requirement strictly related to the xDrive version or applicable to the RWD version as well??

I think front sway bars on complicated cars like BMW's almost always require this, be it RWD or AWD.

The effort required seems pretty consistent with the prices I was quoted for installing sway bars (probably $1500 for front and rear) given the subframe dropping and what not. I am sure its a great upgrade for handling, but its a lot given the relatively low cost of the equipment itself.

No doubt - I was thinking exactly the same!

You guys are right, I paid around 400$CAD for the install which I think is very good but at 1500$ I don't think I would of done it...

Agreed - $400CAD is extremely affordable for that amount of work.

If I could get that price I would go for it too! I got my quote from a very reasonable shop in my area so I will trust it, I plan to go with some thrust arm bearing replacements first to up the steering feel which was much more reasonable.

I think the monoballs was the most noticeable change in steering feel and NVH increase, more than the camber plates. It's a great mod that gives the M340i a little more connected/raw character without compromising it's luxury touch too much. If the isolated smooth and quietness of the M340i is the thing you enjoy the most I wouldn't do it because it is noticeable but to me used to the M2 it's still pretty smooth.

Bottom line - if you have a RWD there are currently no available options. If you have an Xdrive roll with H&R.

Hopefully this will help a few folks who are interested in aftermarket sway bars.
Why wouldn't the xdrive sways work for RWD ?

There's more stuff in the xdrive car than the RWD, anything that the RWD car has the AWD also has.

Not only that, some OEM sways are used on both the RWD and xdrive models interchangeably.

Front sways which are on both xdrive and rwd models

Out of curiosity, what shop do you go to in NoVA?

Odds are we're ending up back in VA when I'm done over here... just planning ahead.

Which monoballs did you install - Dinan or Turner? I've been waiting for SPL or GAS to release a set but they have been slow due to their focus on components for the G80 platform.

I'm just going off the information provided by both H&R and Eibach. When I contacted them via phone they both stated that the sways on the xDrive would not fit on the RWD platform. I fully understand and agree with your logic but the manufacturers would know better than I. :

Dinan, they seemed to be very high quality.

I have heard nothing but positive things about the Dinan monoballs but I am still up in the air if I should make the purchase or wait for other vendors to provide their options?????

Craftsman Auto, they have multiple locations throughout the area and sponsor most of the local car clubs. Their staff are really solid.

Sooooo it now looks as if H&R has finally released a front and rear sway bar for the non X-Drive G20 (see below):

http://www.hrsprings.com/application...s/4/2211/2019/

https://www.achtuning.com/h-r-72462-...-4-series-rwd/

I will be purchasing a set here in the near future and will add to this thread with my thoughts once installed.

I did all the suspension on my G37 myself (coilovers, sway bars, sway bar end links, front upper control arms, rear camber links, toe bolt). Completely different car but I'm confident I could knock springs and sway bars out myself.

I've also thought about having my suspension checked out beforehand. My struts squeak over every bump, very annoying. You can hear them compress/decompress. Is that normal? My car does have 85k miles on it (2nd owner), maybe they are worn out?
I've had the squeaking from day 1 but it wouldn't squeak over every bump and hearing the strut compress/decompress is apparently normal. I switched to Ohlins R&T and there's still a bit of a squeak but it's drastically reduced so it's probably a combination of things.

I would agree - I am sure the issue was an accumulation of things.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the sway bar you linked for the 330 and not m340? Is it compatible? If so, then I would probably consider this now since I loved the improvements the Dinan monoballs made.
