Yes the car is downloading 11/2020.50 as I'm typing this. Not sure if it is worth updating as I will need to re-do all the codings. Looks like the main new thing is the lap timer which is not that useful to me.

Downloaded the My BMW app but there doesn't appear to be an option to check for OTA software updates:

Yes, we lost the ability to download the OTA updates through the iOS connected app since an update a few months ago. The car downloaded the update after a couple of half hour drives. Now deciding whether to initiate or not...

Same as a few above - I got this tonight on the drive home - waiting to see what happens next!

I find Remote Service Upgrade on the My BMW app via the Check Status box and then Services although it could be different on the other side of the world

On the next screen slide across to Services. Remote Software Upgrade is on the 4th line down. Mine indicates no software upgrade available.

Updated the OS to 11/2020.50 this afternoon. Took 20min to redo my codings with BimmerCode (ADV, stop/start memory, starting car in adaptive mode plus a couple of minor things).
Nothing ground breaking from 7/2020.54. Will see how it goes. |

Updated the OS to 11/2020.50 to this afternoon and it sent the PDC control weird. All the fonts and stuff went weird. Persisted for an hour or so and then it fixed itself up when I came back 3 hours later.
Bit odd but all good now. |

Mine upgraded successfully last week but there are no changes of any significance I can see! It wiped all my coding but didn't take long to reinstate with Bimmerode. I haven't tried the M laptimer. In some useless trivia the fan control icon for the HVAC has changed.

Before this update I had the problem of the HUD not displaying the sport meter in sport mode when set to “Display in SPORT mode”.
I was hoping this update would address it but it still seems to be there. Anyone else have this issue? |

I asked my dealer to fix the problem last Friday during the car's first annual inspection. I was very annoyed that they said it could not be done without consulting BMW (OMG - it had taken more than a month to get the service booking.........are you kidding me?). Anyway, I was contacted on Monday and asked to bring the car back in to fix the software issue with the Tacho on 22nd April......and they needed the car for an entire day.....WTF? I didn't fancy having my car at the dealership for yet another whole day, so I coded it myself this afternoon using BimmerCode Expert............Took about 10 minutes! Works beautifully, and I still have retained my driving assistance displays in Active, Comfort and Eco Modes. Thanks guys for posting this fix. Much appreciated. I've attached an update to the BimmerCode Cheat sheet that I started last year, just in case anyone else wants to fix this issue for themselves. The sheet shows where to locate the Codes that are to be changed i.e. DKOMBI4, 3000 - ANZEIGE_KONFIGURATION.

Bluetooth not working after update
updated to 11/2020.xx last week, and since then bluetooth media has stopped working. Calls work fine, but no music.
Took it to the dealer today for a re-install, should get it back tomorrow. I've never used Android Auto, phone not compatible, but when I asked the dealer, he said it's not available in Aus?? even though its displayed?? Has anyone successfully connected their mobile? |

Update on 11.2020.
I finally received my first update since getting the car in May last year. Took a while to download and transfer, a couple of interruptions due to me having to eave, some connectivity issues after returning (deleted my phone from the car and re-added so that the Apps icon would come back) but eventually updated the car. AA didn't appear immediately. Went away disappointed. Came back a few hours later to try and fix my charging in time slot problem when all of a sudden AA appeared as soon as I got into the car the the phone connected. No Lap Timer yet and there is a question if this may have broken my Drive Recorder option. Will look into it today. For anyone with a hybrid, I think the charge time follows what's configured in the new app instead of what you set it to in the car (like was the case for me with the old app). My car was charging immediately even though I'd set it to "In Time Slot" in iDrive. Changed it in the app now, so will test this tonight when I put it back on charge. |

11/2020.50 OTA done
Got the 11/2020.50 OTA upgrade this afternoon...(in NZ)
A notification came up on the IDrive notifications, and I selected proceed via my phone. Its a Pixel 5 Android 11, with both Android Auto and MYBMW Apps. The download is 617MB in size so the first thing to do is check to make sure your MyBMW App is set to download remote upgrades over WiFi and not over mobile data. Took a couple of minutes to download to my phone over a 100Mb Fibre to the Home and 5Ghz Wifi link..(although the App said initially 57 minutes!) I then connected the MyBMW App to the car; it needs to connect on both Bluetooth and WiFi. So another trick is that the MyBMW App wont connect to the car if Android Auto on the phone and the car is already connected and running. So disconnect/exit Android Auto on both the car and on the App. It took about 30 minutes to transfer the file from phone to car using the MYBMW App connection while driving. Once the file is in the car, it tells you to check car in park, handbrake on, and keys inside the car. Once that's done, touch OK, and it starts the download from phone to car. The car does lots of whirring, an aircon fan goes at various speeds, the round safety system LED flashes various colors, and it shows a % completed line as its underway. It took 21 minutes to complete the upgrade..pretty good. It then gives you a write up on the Version and changes etc. Then tells you to open the BMW Drivers App from the MyBMW App, and hey presto, the car users guide App is then updated for your car on the new release. Very smart! Given the number of problems with RSU that I have read on forums and Facebook groups, i was a tad surprised how easy it was and that it worked perfectly.
