330Li seat ambient lighting

In India and other Asian countries (no idea if it is available in non-Asian countries), a LWB version of the G20 330i is on sale (called the 330Li). The one thing that caught my eye was the ambient light strip at the back of the front seats. I know a lot of people might think it is tacky/over the top. But I think I kinda like it. I wonder if that part can be retrofitted in our G20s (without the light strip).
The rear seats are also different in the 330Li. Look at the under thigh support area.

it may be possible if you can find the correct part # for the lighting. I'd imagine it simply daisychains to a constant source of power. I'm just not sure how or if you'd control its brightness either through idrive or the rheostat. it may also be designed to have control input from the rear seat. but from those pics I dont see any indication of that.

I don't think it has any controls from the rear seat. It's basically the same as the rest of the ambient lighting. Only that the seat back part is extra (that our non-Li G20s are missing). Let me see if I can get the VIN of a car from India and find the part number.

The seat back with the ambient lighting strip is BMW part #52107944973. It costs about $133 USdollars. This is from a BMW G28 325li for the Chinese market.

The G28 panel without ambient lighting is part #52107464810. It costs approximately $120 USdollars.

The US spec seatback without ambient lighting cost more than both of those.

So perhaps there is an add on light module for the 512107944973 seatback cover that I am not seeing... I am still looking into it for more answers.

Thank you for the update! I couldn't find the VIN for a car in India because they don't have inventory lists like here (plus VINS aren't given out freely because an owner's complete detail can be found out just by using a VIN).

Not sure they'll need an extra module but I could be wrong. I'm doing some digging too.

I was looking around and comparing that part # to a US market G20. In the G28, it specified for vehicles with ambient lighting. under seat backrests in the US market it didnt, just the storage compartment. very good info indeed. I wonder if the rear armrest could be added as well.
