Is this is a joke or prank?! because this hideous render shouldn't be even featured as a possible design. I know BMW's design direction toward larger kidney grills, but no way it's going to be as repulsive

I'll add you to the list of non-believers in for a shock. Oh I can't wait!

Chime in if you don't think the G22/G82/G80 will have big grills https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1646370

Those air vents belong on the side!! The M8 has it right as well as these birds!! No pig snout! Bmw has an opportunity to make this front fascia set the tone for the segment..

Setting the tone for the segment is the exact intention behind these nostrils and BMW's forward [for better or for worse] design language. Nothing will look like the new 4/M3/M4.

Looking at the front grills, I think I would probably like the horizontal double slat look more than a mesh version.

The big grills were mentioned almost 2 years ago on this forum... those that paid attention knew this was coming for a while now.

Probably not a good idea for a German company to put a hitler stash on their car...

I get what you are saying but how reputable was the big grills mention of this forum 2 years ago. Plus, whose to say that they will be this sharp edged thin slat design as rendered? So far I havent seen this confirmed, so I still take it as a guess. Also they look so bad that its hard to believe, especially if you imagine US plates as I alluded to.

Bmw could still be laughing their ass off as we make renders like this when the M grill wont be nearly this radical.

Bad news / Good news

The bad news: Panda-Snout.

The good news: headlights not stuck to kidneys.

It is VERY easy to see in these spy shots that the render is nearly spot on. You can remain in denial if you want; it's bliss I'm sure.

P.S. BMW doesn't give a damn about how our U.S. plates will look on the car. That's our problem, not theirs.

The sensor making the grilles asymmetrical sticks out like a sore thumb. Wonder if they'll put some vinyl over them to make it look symmetrical like other manufacturers do.
