PCD should be a great experience. I had planned on doing European Delivery last year but COVID and BMW had other plans. Didn't feel comfortable with traveling so that ruled out PCD too.

Same for me. I did the one day driving school there and they highly recommended the delivery experience, but with Covid plus perhaps delaying delivery I passed this time. I hope to do it when the wife's X3 is due for replacement.

Transit time by rail to Carolinas?
My 330xe dispatched from Mexico by rail to South Carolina on 10/6 according to my dealer. I don't see where anyone else has had a rail shipment to the east coast from Mexico. Has anyone been through this and how long did it take? I'm told it will offload in SC and then be trucked to my dealer in Raleigh.

my car has been listed as "in transit" since the 27th of September. I assume based on others threads that would put it on the Glovis sunlight (this is an assumption). If that is true it appears that should be pulling into the port sometime in the next several hours (10/12/21)
My dealer mentioned that they had a stop order at the VPC as a result of a brake controller patch. Is that still the case? If so how long should I anticipate waiting until the car is delivered and ready for pickup. Port of entry is Baltimore, final delivery is Omaha NE. |

I suppose once it gets finished with the VPC i should have a date it'll be available. I'll follow up with the dealership at the end of this week and hopefully have an update. Thanks for the quick response. Last edited by clearwaterms; 10-12-2021 at 08:10 PM.. |

Hello everyone,
I have ordered a BMW M340i with all available options. My car entered production on 03/17/23. I cannot wait. I went to the dealer to find out where my car is going to be assembled. Found out more on the internet. My vin starts with a 3 so that is the new (in 2019) Mexico factory. Here is a link to a video filmed at the factory. I cannot wait until it is here. I have been watching all the videos on youtube about how most of the options I picked work. |

There is no forecast for delivery beyond what the Dealer BMW Genius told me. He said it was gonna start being built 04/14/23 which was the slot the dealership told me I had when I put down the deposit. I just checked my account on My Garage (BMWUSA.com) and now I see I have jumped from "Production Begins" to "Entering Assembly line". I have been checking everyday and this morning it was at "Production Begins". Today (03/31/23) the body has been assembled, painted and entered assembly line all in one day." Trying to predict when it will get here is hard to do. There are many different ways they ship the car. If it is by boat you might have to wait for the ship to fill up. Then travel to a port then be unloaded put on a truck or train and brought to you dealer. If it comes by train it might be sooner. Then you will have to wait for your dealer to do a pre delivery inspection and so on. I'm no expert at deliveries this is all just a guess. The BMW Genuis told me that it would take 6 months. You can get an account with BMWUSA and track your build.

My 330i sat in "ready to transport" about 3 weeks. Today suddenly it moved to in transit. Does anyone know what port of entry cars from. SLP come into for cars on the west coast? I ordered on January 17, I'm getting a little Impatient, been more than the I weeks quoted...lol

My car has been at Ready for Transport since 4/5 and it will be coming to Port Hueneme. I checked the Wallenius & Wilhelmsen schedule and don't see anything coming from Mexico to Port Hueneme again until 6/11 or 6/22. Can you tell me what carrier shipped your car and when it left Lazaro?

Thanks for the quick reply. Less than 3 weeks from being ready - WOW! I've read that there is some delay w/those status updates on the MyBMW tracking and Genius and also that the shipping info can change at anytime too. So I guess I'll continue to refresh my status, even if it doesn't appear it'll change anytime soon. Any way, congrats to you and hope you're enjoying your 330!

My status still shows Ready to Transport (since 4/5) but my CA called the port today and apparently my car boarded the ship on 4/20 and is expected at the dealer this weekend.

MyGarage finally updated and now reflects In Transit! So I guess it may be true that this plant updates the tracking statuses in batches. Genius confirmed car is on Virgo Leader and is expected to arrive at the Port by 4/27.
