Are you sure. Just talked to my SA here in Milwaukee yesterday and one of them isnt taking any IX orders due to lack of allocation and another said its going to be a 1 yr wait esp now that all orders will be 2023 models.

Talked with the dealer today and gave them a deposit. My i4 will be a 2023, they expect to be able to formally place the order in August or so. Expect it sometime in late Q1 or Q2 they said.

How do you know they're for sale? If you're just looking at online those are customer's preordered cars. Dealer has to list every cars that are in transit they're actually not available.

A colleague of mine literally walked into the dealership and the next week had an IX. The only constraint is that you take what they have in stock (colors and options).

They told me they are NOT listing ordered cars or incoming cars.
I've bought several i models from them. Very honest, family run BMW store.

For 2 days they even had four i4 for sale.

What is the name of the dealer? I’m thinking of buying i4 from the lot if they start taking out features from the car.

Y'all are just obsessed with talking about Demos

They had 1 Demo (i4 M50), and I bought it the day it came in (it was still partially wrapped in plastic).

NO dealer gets 4 Demos.

As of last night, 5/25/22, they had 1 i4 for sale and 6 iX...physically on the lot.

I was told by multiple dealers that you cannot buy any i4s off the lot until August 1st. Does anyone know the real story here? I would buy one tomorrow if I could.

I bought my i4 M50 Demo the very day the dealer got it (4/16/22). I was the very first customer to drive it, and I bought it on the spot.

There are a few other people on this forum that have an i4. They can be sold, if the dealer is willing to do it.

Like a BMW rep. told me...what are they going to do...We sold a car, everyone makes money and a customer drove away in a BMW and not a competitor brand!

Definite not true. I was at a dealership and they were delivering an i4 M50, had a i4 eDrive40 for me to buy on the spot if I was willing to pay $10K markup (supposedly a customer backed out) and still had their demo i4 M50 (which they said they weren't selling). The fact is that cars are arriving.

I'm wondering if these cars available for sale (from customer back outs) are from the "BMW Pre-Order" allocation. Does it make sense for BMW to fill "dealer allocations" before "BMW pre-order allocations"? Are dealerships able to pull any tricks and delay actual pre-orders so that they can get cars and mark them up for sale?

Cars are arriving.

Dealers have been known to use slight of hand and configure the pre-order for themselves and have a customer wait for a later production number.

It's easy if you have a customer that doesn't know how the process works. Difficult if the customer is knowledgeable.

There have been folks on ****** that had to go to up the food chain because a sales guy had stolen the pre-order and gave them the run around about allocation.

Once you get a production number thr game is over.

Did you get yours with Msrp? They do markup $10k if customer back out. I guess it’s not surprising since every dealer is doing it.

At first they said $10k over. I right away said I would not pay $10k over. We negotiated for a few mins, and they reduced the overage. I paid more than I wanted to, but I was happy they negotiated and I wanted the car and it was near identical to the i4 M50 that I had on order.

I got EVERY option, colour wheels, etc I wanted... except HK sound (and I am more than happy with my HiFi sound).

It all worked out, I loved dealing again with Pacific BMW, I love my i4 and it has been 100% flawless (not even a tiny "what was that"? lol).

Yes placed my order a few weeks ago and I got a delivery date Q1/Q2 2023 for a MY2023 i4 M50 at my dealer also. Allocations are slow and demand is picking up.

The reason there are iXs available is because the car is plain ugly. I have seen it in person and it's ugly. Whoever designed that car and the i3 should be fired. Sorry.
