2023 US ordering guide...no Drivers Assistance Pro package :(
2023 BMW i4 (G26) Rel 2022-06-01 - OrderingGuide.pdf
The parking assist is M50 only, not edrive. The DAPP is nowhere to be seen. This is personally a dealbreaker for me. |

MY2023 prices were increased all over the place for the i4 options, in addition of the elimination of DAP, Cognac Vernasca, no PAP for the e40 and M brakes no longer standard in the M50. Kind of a shitty MY2023 to start.

What do you mean M brakes no longer standard on the M50?

Only the elimination of DAPP would really affect me if I got moved into 2023. Not sure I'd cry over that, given it's rather pricey and I'm not sure how much I'd use it (or trust it). |

I have both. Praying I don't get pushed to MY2023. The price increase is one thing. Not getting what I have waited for a year to get would really suck. Not sure I want the car with no cognac and no DAPP. I'll always feel cheated after waiting this long.

No DAPP will make the decision really easy for me. This being a daily driver, 100-200 miles some days, not having DAPP is a very easy "No thank you" for me.
The upside is, this will open up allocations for people that do not need/want the options since people like me will cancel. |

I don't understand why it wouldn't have DAPP. It literally makes 0 sense that DAPP is offered on something like an M3/M4 but wouldn't be offered on an i4. I'm inclined to believe this is some sort of a mistake.
BMW isn't immune to mistakes. For example the M3 pricing guide lists no cost for metallic paint, when in reality it's been confirmed that that is in fact a mistake on the pricing guide and metallic paints are a $650 option.

How in the "F" would you not allow it on the M50. Same with cognac and red brakes. All removed from the M50 ordering guide. Just plain stupid!!!!!

The configurator is still for 2022. Can anyone actual walk in and order, specifically, a 2023? Maybe this guide is a work in progress. Hopefully.

What does "SOP" mean in the order guide ? Is it start of production? If that's true then everything built July and after will be MY23

It's disappointing for sure, I've done quite a bit of research into the car. I even got assurances from sources I trust that BMW will not strip this car of options. DAPP may not be a huge deal to some, but I can't have a $80,000 car without it. It's a must in California amongst other large metropolitan areas. Driver fatigue is significantly reduced with it. If I didn't use it 60-70% of the time I'd reconsider but I do. BMW messed up here. I'll be canceling my order as soon as I get official confirmation that: 1) my car will be MY23 2) MY23 does not get DAPP |

I can't believe that BMW will exclude DAPP, it has to be an error or oversight.
If DAPP is not offered I will cancel my order and re-order when they offer it again. I just saw the G20 M340 2023 ordering guide and the DAPP is listed, it dies n to make sense to have it on the G20 and not on the EV I4, so I believe it is a mistake. 2NH (M brakes) shows as standard in the M50, but then the M Sports Package Pro is $450 more expensive than the old extended Shadowline package- and the difference are the M brakes in Red which used to be no cost in the M50, and still are no cost in the e40.
So the error in the guide is either the M brakes are not standard, or the pricing of the package is wrong. |

I'm rooting for this build guide to be wrong. It makes no sense.

The $550 extra in the e40 includes the brakes and the color selection. I think that is the disconnect with this Pricing Guide and the brakes. |

This blows, first instinct is it is a deal breaker and I'll just need to start looking for another car. The trouble is I want an EV and I don't see anything the same price range that I would consider. The Electric Genesis GV70 looks tempting, but I really don't want an SUV. E-tron GT and Taycan are out of my price range.
My current car is getting old, I really need to dump it in less than a year. I don't really want a stop gap car, until something in my price range comes out or the i4 m50 gets un-neutered / the supply chain problems ease. After thinking about this overnight, I'll probably just hold tight and suck it up if I don't have driving assistance pro on my build. Who knows, maybe bmw will honor a pre-order like mine and allow it. If not I can live without it. |

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out what I’ll do, as well. I use DAPP on my 330 and it’s become a very important part of my driving. Without it, my overall planning and options shift dramatically in directions I don’t like. It may end up making more sense to keep my 330 until this all clears up. Of course, since I pre-ordered, I may get a 2022 with all the options I ordered. It’s not clear to me what’s really happening, and the lack of communication is perhaps the greatest issue.

90%+ of my driving is on streets where traffic jam assist would not do anything for me. This car will most likely never go on road trips. In addition, this week my wife and I should be picking up her X5, which does have DAAP, so if the drive to and from to work was really that big of a deal, I could swap with her on those days. I guess I'll know more after a few weeks with the x5. It is a bummer. All the forums I look including this seems to have a lot of people really mad. Because of the lack of communication no one anywhere, customers or dealers seem to know the answers to the questions so as a result everyone is just guessing. My dealership seems confident I'll get the car I ordered and it will be this year. I still don't have a prod code but they still seem confident. Maybe BMW will try and do the right thing, treat pre-orders differently. |
