Same here no such settings. I’ve scoured all settings pages everything is pretty much turned on. I also used my iPhone camera to see IR LED of sensors they’re all turned on you can see them blinking.

Assuming you all have DAPP, the fact that you're missing settings found in the manual it's clear that you need a software update. People have reported on i4 talk similar issues you guys are having on the 07/… software.

You can go to the dealer and tell them BMW genius instructed you to get a software update (seems to do the trick most times). OTA updates are not full-fledged and they won't update every piece of software that can be updated on the car.

yeah was just on with the genius and BMW assist, not very helpful at all. It's obvious that they buggered something. I'm wondering if the recall they did at the port was done half hazardly.

we are on 7/2022-33. and have ZDY, 5AR and 5AU aka DAP.

Went to the dealer they won’t update mine unless something is really wrong. Was told software version is different for every car, if Joe has higher version doesn’t mean lower version is out of date. It doesn’t make sense to me though.

Lol something is really wrong though. You should have put your car in a service appt with your stated issue. If they can't recreate the issue that's a different story, but you said you don't even have the options in menus that are in the manual so I'm sure that's pretty easy for them to witness and act to resolve. Does your car have this setting though? I can’t find in manual mentioning to turning on driver attention camera. Here’s is the page where it mentioned fatigue alert but nothing about turning on camera. This setting might not be in US cars.

You can find the setting in "Safety and Warnings", Attention Assistant, something like that. Hopefully someone can find the exact path to the setting. It is there for sure.
I just learned Attention Assistant is the same as fatigue alert in US car. Mine has already set to Standard and I don’t think it’s related to TJA not working.

I don't have mine yet. I think you've exhausted all the steps you could take. Might not be fun, but if I were you I'd put it in for service and have them tell me it's not broke or is before I pulled my hair out.

DAPP is on a lot of BMW models not just the i4. Maybe you can try searching more than i4 forums to find a resolution. Just another option

Weirdly the PDF version of the manual, downloaded specifically for my VIN, does not reference anything about going to the Driving Settings -> Driver Assistance -> Driving -> Assisted Driving menu and selecting "Assisted Driving Plus." The only item it mentions in that menu is the Lane Change Assist which is all I see as an option in my car under that menu. The same for the physical paper manual which came with the card. BUT - the onboard help system in the car does indicate that menu/option should exist. So not sure what to trust.

Already looked no other models have this issue it just comes down to iD8 being too new. I even pointed out one of iX Youtube videos TJA wasn't working either I still see yellow wheel icon nagging in traffic jam.

ID7 based ETJA experience/advice doesn't apply to ID8 based ETJA. The menus are completely different and the way the system operates is changed as well.

I've used ETJA/DAPP on my ID7 car quite a bit and I'm of no help to the ID8 peeps. This looks like a software issue that needs to be addressed in a BMW service center.

I could swear, though I've only been in a traffic jam twice in my X5, that when in a traffic jam I had to push my mode button 3 times, the 3rd time activated my traffic jam assistant-where the message came up and said it was ready. I could be wrong, but I even thought I saw that in one of the videos floating around on the X5 traffic jam assistance (might not have been an official BMW video) but I saw it in a video- or I was dreaming.

Never been in a traffic jam in the i4 yet, but I will try pushing the mode button 3 times if I am.

.

That's not the case in my X6 which likely uses the same system as your X5.

If you're in distance control with steering assist mode and the car detects all conditions for ETJA are met, a message will pop up that says you can activate "Driving Assistance Plus" AKA ETJA by pressing the mode button once.

After doing the research, this doesn't apply to ID8 cars, where ETJA operates differently. Looking on i4 talk, a third of the people report ETJA doesn't work for them, which is mind boggling.

Update.. as expected BMW and the dealer were totally useless. They said they verified that the modules are present and the features are coded. Said they aren't allowed to reflash anything without permission from BMW na so waiting for that to happen but so far as expected another waste of a day at the dealer.

Can start a whole other thread on how you have to literally fight with the dealer to perform service if a fault isn't present ... I had to literally pull up the owners manual and show him the missing options

Damn!! That sucks did they at least run some diagnostic? I have an appointment coming up if they’re going to waste my day I’ll just cancel it. I do have a warning pops up about Parking Assistance malfunction so I’ll let them run a diagnostic.

What a crappy dealer. The permission they're talking about is for billing purposes. They can do the upgrade anytime, they just want to make sure they get paid to do it. A good dealer would address the obvious issue with you first by doing the upgrade then worry about getting paid for the couple of hours of labor after.

It already costs the dealer by providing a loaner it doesn’t make sense they would not update the software. Unacceptable! We can’t update OTA either.
