I got interior pictures of a G80 test mule with a manual transmission

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Today I was driving home back from work when I spotted some g80 m3 with full camo. Obviously I went to have a look and found out that one of the cars was manual. So it's for sure there will be a manual version.

OP you should've made one more picture I side.
Little to the right to see the gear shifter and see the layout.

Hot Damn!!!

I currently have an M3 CS, which is my first non-manual in 20 years of driving. As much as I love the performance and how well the car puts power down (not losing boost when you shift makes the car feel 2x faster than my 16 F80 6MT), I miss rev matching and being fully connected to the car.

Hugely appreciate the photos but does anyone else smell a BMW plant here... join date of today (but aware of the need for manual confirmation)... we get only the angle we need to confirm the manual (3 pedals) but the full interior layout remains hidden...

Seems they are working overtime to smooth ruffled feathers?

Yeah, honestly it's hard to beat the last gen M steering wheel and all its variations. That was a good looking wheel. This looks pretty pedestrian in comparison.

Aside from the stitching it looks like all the other ones in the more regular cars. Disappointing.

Ya but the fact that its the same wheel as in the other new M cars ... one would surmise that it makes sense this would be the production wheel. Which, if i may say, is pretty sh*tty

Sorry but I disagree, they can just stick a new steering wheel at any time.

Besides, I do like and wish they have new steering wheel for this G80

BMW doesn't care enough about forum users to prove they're still making a manual. The sales of manuals vs automatics prove that. Sure they make keep an eye on things to get an idea for marketing trends but that's about it.

Actually, it's exactly the opposite. Test mules re-use parts from existing cars all the time.

That said, I don't see any reason why BMW would use a different wheel in the M3. Literally all M cars and M Sport cars use the same basic wheel. The M cars have some small modifications, of course, but that's it. I am surprised that people are surprised. I thought it was a forgone conclusion that the M3 would use the same wheel as the M5 and M8.

Oh so you're just generally shitting on anything that's not a E46 or E90
Brash assumption but no, I've own every 3 series since e36 and as a human I've just got my opinions and wishes. Not shitting on it just sayin I don't like the new M steering wheels theyve developed. There's no sport in it what so ever when u see it compared to say a flat bottom design from Audi - that's badass.

It's the same one in the F90 M5, M8 and X3M
Yes I'm well aware that's my point

Should've taken one for the team and ripped off the front camo and snapped photos! Jk probably going too far

So I also agree that flat bottom wheels are gimmicky. However, the RS4 steering wheel just looks awesome.

Just look at the perforated leather and that beautiful sculpting. I appreciate the tastefully thin looking spokes as opposed to the chunky spokes on the BMW M wheel. It's more like the previous M3 steering wheel really.

I personally think it would be perfect if it was round, but I'd rather have the RS4 steering wheel over the current M steering wheel.

This one is nice too:
