Valet Parking mode - design flaw

The G20 valet parking mode has a setting that keeps the trunk locked and prevents it from being opened via the key, internal button and exterior handle. This is a great feature if you have valuables in the trunk and are getting the car valet parked or washed.

However, the middle seat in the rear can be folded down from inside the vehicle giving access to the trunk. This makes the locking feature virtually useless. Am I missing something here? Can the middle seat be locked so it cannot be opened from inside the vehicle?

Not that I'll ever valet since I do not like people driving my vehicles, but how do you enable valet parking mode again? Think I seen it somewhere in the settings but can't remember.

Swipe down from the top of the screen and they'll be a Valet Mode option

So really all valet mode does is lock the darn trunk? You would think it would limit the distance and top speed so some young punk cannot take it for a joy ride. But locking the trunk only seems a bit of waste. And you are right...center seat will just come down.

This was an issue with the F30. Looks like they didn't bother to fix it.

It does also ensure that your seat and mirror settings don't get messed up and iDrive personal data is secured. Limiting speed and distance would be a great feature addition though. Securing the trunk properly seems like a no brainer and total oversight.
