I just leased a 2019 M4... I was thinkin of jumping onto the M2Comp bandwagon, but I got too good of deal on an M4 since the demand on them isn't as high. I am curious as to how the next M3 will shape out to be... looking at the 2020 3 series... I cannot see the rear of the car looking better with its Lexus-ISH styled tails and rear.. but I am staying optimistic.
By the time the lease runs out of on the M4, the next M3 and M4 will have been out for at least 1 year and I can see how the car has turned out.. I am not a big adopter of new a brand new chassis.. for obvious reasons given the history of the M3s. |

I'm really torn, gonna start test driving cars in a month or so. My M3 lease is up right before the new year. It wouldn't hurt to have a little more room for the kids, so I'm considering a Macan S, X3M, X3 M40i, and M340i.

That's going to end up being out of my price range and I'm not a huge fan of the look of the 5 series.

I was very close pulling a trigger on GT3RS but, I will go with M3 and X6M instead.

Strange play, we'll see how it plays out! The M3 is a great all rounder but cannot get close to that sports car feel IMO. That's why I was happy to trade my F80 for a Camaro, of all things. The Camaro did have a lot more drama and was really well behaved on the track but as an all-rounder it wasn't very good. The GT3RS would be a poor all-rounder but if your play is to divide the expanse between the two with ~$200k budget it seems like the X6M would be complemented better with the M2CP or CS? Or maybe Cayman GTS at M3 price point. They each have their flaws (namely the dated interior and overall design in the M2 and the bizarre engine in the 718)... curious what your thought process is!

M2 Competition. If the G80 M3 comes in manual and is as good of a drivers car as this one, then i'll make the upgrade, if you can call it that.

From what I know the body is much more ridged/stiffer which should handle better then F80 M3 if balanced right ( and it will be ) Every new generation of M3 was much better then previous one by a big margin. I drove them all and I am sure this new one will be great.

Rented an R8 identical to that when Audi on Demand was a thing ... what an incredible car! Love that you can put down the glass even with the top up so you can really enjoy that V10 wailing away. Enjoy it!

My G30 530e was supposed to be the boring car that holds me until the new M3, but last night, something monumental happened...
The 2020 mid-engine Vette Stingray... what a gorgeous car at a bargain bin price (starting at under 60k). If it drives and sounds as well as everyone expects it will, I'll retain the G30 as the commuter and get me a manual Vette. BMW and I are drifting apart, and I feel like the continued Lexusification effort is a bridge too far for me. |

A mid-engine NA V8 with DCT still sounds infinitely better than what I am seeing from the new M3/M4. By the way, as far as I am aware, BMW still hasn't confirmed availability of the third pedal, so we could looking at auto vs DCT in this regard. |
