Parkers is a well respected company in the motor trade in the UK. Many users will be seriously looking to their reviews, valuations, running costs, reliability reports, as part of their buying and ownership choice.

The review will be backed up with much more written detail, (like all other models), as the G20 generation continues through its life cycle.

This guy seems young but I think he did a pretty good job going over all the details.

are you not a fan of the exterior, performance, or quality also though? I mean those are also pretty solid without sounding super biased

Aesthetically somewhat appealing, although kidneys looking rather ridiculous. Quality? Not convinced. Performance from a 320? Let's say amusing

It’s not the publication (Parkers), it's the clueless guy they put on camera to represent their business.

Maybe that kind of review is not what an enthusiast wants to watch. It is not 'written' for the US market, certainly not for us car nerds.

I agree it is lightweight, not a review with too much technical content, but when you know his intended audience, it makes more sense. Like UK's WhatCar? reviews, it is for the wider audience. Comparisons that matter to many UK buyers, in that segment of the market.

IMO it's the best looking 3 series since E46.
(The worst looking 3 series IMO are E90 and F30 - although F32, F80 and F82 look great.)
And the best & most modern part of G20 is the kidneys.

I jumped to Guilua Q2, super happy so far. Lacks some tech but drives oh so well.

How is the reliability so far? It will be interesting to see how it holds up over the long run.

This isn't much different from American journalists either, especially Youtube ones. People rarely get into technical aspects or really dissect the driving dynamics...it's always superficial bs for the average consumer who only cars about the tech and image associated with said cars. As you said, they generally want to reach a wide audience.

There's only a handful of auto journalists who actually resonate with driving enthusiasts...Chris Harris, Johnny Libermann, Carlos Lago, and Jason Cammisa come to mind.

The interior is beautiful- much nicer than the f30. Too bad the grill is unforgivably gauche.

Company leases are up on a pair of f30s 2Q 2020. Looks like migration away from BMW to something that is not an embarrassment.

I'm looking forward to the future generation where BMW corrects the unfortunate and horrifically ugly design language of the current models (current U.S. market 2 Series / M2 excepted).
