Most of not all premium phones (and some non premium models) have wireless charging. The wireless charger should just be part of the convenience or even premium pack... why they charge extra to get it separately is just one of those "because bmw" things

It's the same thing with Android Auto. There are more Android OS users in the world than iOS so why not support it?

I believe there were speculations that Android Auto used data from your car and sends it to google, thus why BMW doesn't support it. It could maybe have something to do with the fact that they exclusively use/promote wireless apple carplay, but not completely sure about either.

I had the genius ask BMW. They said without wireless charging no texts. U think they would code it for me? I gave the genius a big tip maybe he will? Another problem I noticed is the the bluetooth keeps losing my phone. I have to delete the phone and reacquire it. Very annoying.

Chevy SS has 4 piston fixed piston calipers in back with no visible additional electronic parking brake caliper. While I have no problem with floating calipers, there are more elegant solutions like using drum parking brakes like the current F30 but with an electronic actuator.

What interior trim is everyone getting on their M340s? That used to be an easy decision but I'm finding the light colored aluminum choices a turn off compared to the CF in the M3. How's that dark ash?

Ash grey trim looks great in contrast with lighter colors like oyster and beige, although its much darker than what the online builder suggests, aluminum looks best with black, other than that I've found it doesn't match the other leather colors well.

I updated the photo. Should have been more clear, I was trying to get a good pic of mesh effect. The aluminum is kinda hard to see in pics.... especially in my car. I updated with a 3 series pic from a review.

I hope this helps a few people thinking on this car. I took possession of a M340i unexpectedly last weekend. I was cross shopping a 2019 Audi S4 and my local dealership had ONE M340i that wasn't presold and it had everything I wanted in it (though, I may not love the all black rims now that I have them). I have Black/Black with all of the options but the high perf tire package.
My original love for a car that would accelerate smoothly and drive in a way that made me smile started with the last S4 model with a gas guzzling V8 (2008 I am pretty sure). I pushed the pedal, it went faster, no lag, just faster. I had to part with that car to get something that fit growing kids better and returned to sedans in 2015 with a BMW 335xi with the M-Sprot package. It was a nice, car, but nothing wow'd me. Drove that for two years, than in 2017 I got a Tesla Model S. One reason was it was fast, like the V8. But driving it was not enjoyable. The Tesla experience, on whole, was maybe one of the most terrible car owning experiences ever, but a separate story. So now I'm back looking for a new car and was ready to get the S4 again. I am very glad I kept looking. The M340i drives like my old S4. The acceleration is smooth, no matter how much is asked for, the gear shifting profile is great, I find it handles beautifully and almost begs me to accelerate into curves and turns. It growls just the right amount for a car that drives out to dinner and to work and doesn't wake the neighbors. The technology in the car is really fun too. I'm loving it. I know that's not the most technical review, but I thought I'd add my thoughts. Now what to do with these rims... |

But, I couldn't get over the exterior styling and the drive dynamics were 'numb'. Had a decent offer for 15k miles, 2k out of pocket, and 690/month... One thing I don't miss is the 6am cold starts of the M4... surprised my neighbors put up with it daily for 3 years!! Congrats on the new car!!

I need to drive both to figure out if any call out to me. Biggest concern is regret coming from the M3. |
