If you are considering which of the two to get, dont worry about fuel consumption and buy the 330d. The drive, sound and everything just worth it. The 320d is a good engine. The 330d is a great engine.

Just to add another choice to the mix - unless you're doing mega miles, or have a particular love for diesel, it's worth considering the petrol equivalent.

I opted for a 320i instead of a 320d and first time in a petrol car in nearly 10 years. The B48 is beautifully smooth and quiet, and I can easily average 45 mpg without much care on a motorway run. Now given the fact the 20d was £50 a month more expensive, and diesel is 5p more per litre, I'm never going to recoup that doing 10k miles a year.

I think a lot of people over the years have been obsessed with having a diesel for the headline MPG reasons although the shove of torque is always nice as well.

Personally, as a company car driver and 'part-time' petrol head, I just hate the noise and rattle of a 4 cylinder diesel so not had one for over 5 years now. But I don't do huge mileage, under 10k a year so suits me.

Think the OP drives a 330e so not sure on the angle of this thread

I agree with Beemer5to3, my last 4 cars have been Jag diesels but changed to 330i Dec 19. I got 47.2mpg on a 277 mile round trip mainly in eco pro mode, but easily get 40mpg + on the motorway in any setting.
Switch to Sport Plus on the twisty's and MPG takes a tumble but the fun factor more than makes up for it

I picked up second hand 330d xdrive (6,600miles on it, reg Oct 19) just before Christmas. Great engine and very frugal if you want it to be. I did 340miles yesterday and got 49.7mpg.. can't complain. Go for the 3.0l lump!

Get 55mpg to 62mpg on a long motorway run and 30-35 around town, low 40s on mixed roads. G20 330d couldnt be happier.

Also recommend looking at a petrol unless you have a stupidly long commute. Smoother, cleaner and better sounding.

Long journey in the 330i - 40ish MPG. Day to day mid 30's.

Currently on 40.6mpg over the last 1000 miles of mixed driving. I've a 2020 G20 330d xdrive.

My last F30 320d xdrive was averaging 43.5mpg. The 3 litre engine is worth it though!

I have a 330i G21 after changing from a 320d F30. I have just done a 800 mile trip around Scotland and averaged 47mpg - that included some very spirited driving through the highlands (my 320d did around 55mpg on the same trip). Just food for though. I am so chuffed I went for a petrol this time - get pretty poor mpg on short trips but the offset in cost makes it the better option in my opinion.
