Just changed the battery on my keyfob using a Duracell 2032 but now it doesn't work. I tried to pair it again next to key sign below the steering but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone on here activated a keyfob after a battery change ?? What's the exact sequence ?

I changed my battery and didn’t have to pair. Worked straight away.

Drivers guide doesn’t mention anything about pairing.

Faulty battery? Or in the wrong way?

I changed the battery again and now worked. Must be a dodgy one I put in first.

A few hours earlier I called bmw and they said I needed a bmw battery bought from dealers and others won't work. 🤷🏼*♂️🤷🏼*♂️🤦🏻*♂️🤦🏻*♂️

I have had a few issues with CR2032 batteries not performing up to spec especially in car key fobs. Get the best one you can, the cheap ones seem to struggle.

sounds about right from BMW "special battery's"

I have some Duracell ones and they work fine.

I replaced mine by chance with an identical Panasonic battery, nothing BMW special about it.
