Yup, i actually have an M240 running E40 with Jb4 catless DP and all the fun stuff, tons of power and now i need more stopping power lol. I have powerstop slotted and vented rotors, i will see to get a pic to post it up.

Heck yeah! I'm sure you have plenty of power with those options 😊😊

Yes - pictures would be nice. Also, how is the fit and finish on those rotors? Any real life feedback?

Not on my M340i. But I ran Hawk 5.0's on my F30 335i. And I run Hawk HPS + pads on my 650 whp G37. I love Hawk pads because they do really well and have very low brake dust. I pulled those part numbers from the Hawk website though.

Appreciate the information brother! The HPS + are a bit too aggressive for my taste but the HPS 5.0 should be just right!

Great info

Can you please share what rotors are you using? I would hate to destroy my stock rotors with Hawk pads but really getting tired of the brake dust.

So I installed at HP+ this am and drove around all day with it. Now this is the pad I was looking for, has a hard deep grasp bite. Cold it performs just like the stock Brembo pads after it warms up a bit forget it, clamping power is amazing. No squeaks or noise from the pads either, I have slotted and drilled rotors so I get the regular whirring sounds when braking and when braking really hard from 50+ a vibration but this is the nature of the rotor cutting into the pad. It’s a very aggressive pad compared to the yellow. I will report more on Monday after I drive around the car more over the weekend. I still have the Yellow in the rear I don’t think I will need to swap those out.

Soooo After driving around the weekend with the HP+ I actually love them. They do make a little extra noise which I can deal with it’s not like an 18 wheeler truck but you do hear some squeaks an scrapes but let me tell you the braking power and clamping is out of this world. Did some spirited runs and force braking, held up like a champ no fading no issue just bites and stops on a dime.

Nice! What are your thoughts/comparison between the HPS 5.0 and the HP+ as it relates to daily driving?

Curious - is this noise present each time the brakes are utilized?

Not all the time, sometimes you don't hear anything and sometimes it with every press slowing down from 20 - 0

Is there a DIY somewhere on this board for brake pads? (I searched & nothing came up)

The only question I have is: Do we need to put these cars into service mode to swap out pads or is it no different than a regular brake job?

Also no one is being specific about what kind of rotors are being used for non-OEM pads (say Hawk HPS)? Stock? or if after market rotors what are the details?

I am just trying to get rid of the brake dust as the car is around 20k miles and original pads still have plenty of life left in them.

Thanks in advance.

I ran it with stock rotors. There's no issue with that.

According to Hawk's website, it shows both cars under same part number so I assume yes.

Thanks for posting this link and answering all of my questions.

It is interesting that he doesn't mention anything about putting the car in service mode while doing the rear brakes. I thought it is something that we had to do before servicing the brakes on GXX cars.

Update after 500 miles. So far the best Fnn brake pads i used. The stopping power is amazing. if you can deal with the squeaking noise driving around town then get these pads. The bite is out of this world and slowing down from high speeds of 80+ is great. i drove the catskills twice and it these things rock.

Aren't the "OEM" M Sport brakes Brembo? Why not get the ceramic Brembo's? Brembo pads on brembo rotors are hard to beat.

Unfortunately, the aftermarket game for these cars as it relates to rotors is extremely limited. I've been looking for a set of drilled/slotted rotors but with negative results. I'm going to resurface me stock rotors for my first brake replacement , hopefully by the second brake replacement there will be more aftermarket options.
