how much does xdrive weigh?

haven't been able to find good weight numbers out there, any idea how much xdrive adds? thinking about a G80 for track first, low mileage daily (3-5 miles per day, if that) and wondering which is the better setup.

also.. why does the G82 really get an extra 20 hp over the G80 in xdrive trim? wtf?

The G82 (LCI) gets the 20 hp bump. As soon as the G80 LCI goes into production (July) it will get the same bump.

AWD will always be a better setup. What you want is the G80 LCI which ordering I think starts next month.

I've seen claims of about 140lbs, unsure if accurate and don't really care since my car is manual.

Expectations or not, it’s 100 lbs, not 140.

Edmonds (no idea of accuracy) lists the manual at 3840 so 150 less than the Comp X Drive.

Because unlike traditional AWD, t's rear biased, weighs only 100lb. for a trade off of front grip for corner exit without the understeer.

I ordered a set of portable car scales. I will weigh my car when they arrive. As I'm waiting for my M4 CS, I thought it would be a good idea to get a baseline. BMW claims the CS to be 77 pounds lighter than the regular XDrive. We shall see.

No one is forcing you to be on the forum. Can enjoy your car without getting involved in the debate.

There’s a weight difference between manual and auto trans, but remember you can get an auto RWD car, so xDrive weight is on top of the auto trans. Your calculations are off.

You are confused, because xDrive isn’t offered for the manual. If you take an identical Comp and Comp xDrive, the difference will be 100 pounds.
